  9. £150k only a fraction of full meals cost

    Peter Saull

    BBC Radio Nottingham Political Reporter

Uncertainty around Britain's relationship with the EU has seen the pound lose about 16% percent of its value since 23 June.

While this has benefited certain parts of the economy - in the short term at least - the price you pay in the shops is expected to rise.

    county hall

This report - for Nottinghamshire County Council - says there've already been increases in the food supply chain - and it'll cost around £150,000 a year more to provide school dinners.

In the grand scheme of things, though, it's not a lot - the total cost is around £18m pounds and the report doesn't mention any plans to put up prices for parents.

  10. Brexit 'means school dinners cost £150k more'

    Dave Wade

    BBC Local Live

A report suggests Brexit is making it more expensive to provide school meals in Nottinghamshire.

The county council says the falling value of the pound is having an impact on costs.

It says it'll now cost £150,000 more a year.
