A company providing out of hours NHS services in Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood has gone into administration.

Central Nottinghamshire Clinical Services also provides teams who work in 16 care homes across the Newark district.

NHS bosses say all of the services are being transferred to alternative providers.

I would like to thank the fans for all their support since I took charge. Although we struggled with results at first, I felt our performances were strong and the lads gave me everything they had. They, along with the staff, are a good honest group and I will always appreciate the commitment and desire shown during my time here. Councillors vote on recycling centres

After a couple of amendments, Nottinghamshire county councilors have voted to discuss the new registration system for recycling centres at a future meeting.

They've also vowed to work more closely with other local authorities.

Conservative councillors said they believe it was intrusive to store so much data from users and they have questioned the effectiveness of the system.

It is set to come into force in September - from then people who live outside the county, including in Nottingham, will not be able to use the authority's tips.

'Abhorrent' murder has devastated family

David Dunstan admitted the brutal attack and was jailed for a minimum term of 24 years and 87 days.  

Det Ch Insp Gareth Meadows called the attack at Carolyn Hyatt's mother's house, "abhorrent". 

"Not only did Dunstan brutally attack Carolyn but he abused the trust she had placed in him as a very new partner,"

"Carolyn was a much-loved sister and her devastated family will live with the consequences of her loss for the rest of their lives."

Mansfield man murdered partner by setting her alight

A man has been jailed for life after murdering his partner by hitting her over the head and setting her on fire.

David Dunstan, 42, of Redgate Close, Mansfield, hit Carolyn Hyatt with a metal bar before pouring flammable liquid on her and igniting it last August.

Dunstan was arrested at the scene in Shirebrook while Ms Hyatt was taken to hospital with serious burns. She died there later that month.

Historic Nottingham nightclub to reopen under new name

You might remember it as the Palais or maybe Ritzy? But now the Oceana nightclub in Nottingham is getting an £800,000 makeover and yet another new name. 


The venue on Lower Parliament Street marked its 90th birthday last year but will soon become PRYZM in its latest overhaul.  

Government response to city air pollution 'inadequate'

The British Lung Foundation is also calling for more action on the unsafe air in Nottingham.

"Unfortunately, the government's response so far has been inadequate.

Health bosses 'encouraging' use of e-cigs

Prof John Britton, a respiratory consultant at the trust, has been speaking about using e-cigarettes as a way of getting smokers off the real thing.

The World Health Organisation warned that poor air quality is a major cause of disease and death.
