    James Averill

    Local Democracy Reporting Service

A deal has been reached over a parcel of land at Sixfields Stadium, which delayed the troubled redevelopment of Northampton Town Football Club's East Stand.

The chairman had threatened to sell the club unless Northampton Borough Council allowed them to surrender part of the lease to transfer the land back to the club.

That was agreed at a cabinet meeting and it was confirmed "there is now absolutely nothing to stop the development of the stand".
