  5. 'Careless' batting by Northants

    Northamptonshire 117-6 (43 overs) v Warwickshire

    Alex Winter

BBC Radio Northampton sport at Wantage Road

Gorgeous day at Wantage Road and on a fairly slow wicket, Northamptonshire would have been hoping to build up a decent total having won the toss.

But they've batted rather carelessly. Four batsmen have been dismissed pulling - Rob Keogh the last, missing a straight ball from Jeetan Patel - and Northants are now in danger of falling well short of what you would think is a competitive total. There hasn't been too much help for the bowlers outside the first hour.

A great shame this morning when Olly Stone went down injured in the warm-up. Seeing him tearing in against his old club would have been quite a sight. Not to be.

  8. Wellingborough: Jacksons Lane development approved

    Local Democracy Reporting Service

About 500 parking spaces will be lost from Wellingborough town centre after councillors voted to approve an application for 114 homes in the Jacksons Lane car park and High Street area.

The decision to get rid of the car park required a casting vote from Wellingborough Borough Council's planning committee chairman after a vote between councillors was tied at five each.

    Jackson Lane, Wellingborough

As he passed the plans a member of the public gallery shouted "shame on you".

The development will feature 85 houses and 29 apartments plus new roads and some car parking space.

The meeting heard that trade in Wellingborough had fallen by 15% since the nearby Rushden Lakes shopping complex opened last year.
