  2. Louis Vuitton purse stolen from delivery driver in Wellingborough

    A delivery driver has been injured and robbed as he went to deliver a designer purse in Soane Close, Wellingborough, yesterday lunchtime.

    He was approached by two men who demanded he hand over a parcel, containing a Louis Vuitton purse.

    It's believed one of the men may have been carrying a knife. The delivery driver was left with minor injuries. Both offenders were white and wearing hooded tops. One of the men ran with a limp and was wearing a Burberry style scarf.

  6. Corby pool closed until New Year to keep it in 'tip-top shape'

    Corby’s main 50m swimming pool will be closed for maintenance and repairs until 11 January.

    We have world class swimmers using this pool so we have to keep it in tip-top shape.”

    As part of the work being carried out some tiles will be replaced in the diving area and the pool will also be given a deep clean.

  7. E-fit of man wanted for Daventry attack released

    Police have released a computer generated image of a man wanted for an attack on a woman in her Daventry home which left her unconscious and with facial injuries.

    The man was one of two who knocked on the door of a house in Farnborough Drive, Daventry, between 21.45 and 22.15pm on 16 December.

    They asked the woman for money, but she refused and tried to close the door. The pair pushed open the door, attacked the woman, stole some money and fled. 

  8. Northampton chef says some 'don't want to eat' artistic food

    Chef Andy Kelly, from Sophia's Restaurant in Northampton, said people say "I don't know how you could eat that" when he puts his artistic food creations on social media, but added "at the end of the day it's food".


    After making his latest range of Star Wars inspired dishes he said: "I like the films, but also the artistic abstract dishes."

    The dishes range in price from £10 to £150.

    Roger Jones, leisure manager for Corby Pool, told me they rarely find anything valuable: "There’s the odd pound, but it seems the people of Corby keep their money to themselves."

  11. Chef making Star Wars food hasn't seen new film yet

    Northampton Chef Andy Kelly said items including his edible Millennium Falcon could take up to a day to make.

    He told the BBC he's yet to see the new Star Wars film, but the food "seems to be spreading by word of mouth and several people now phone up and say 'We're coming in on such a day, could you make me...'".

  14. Corby pool takes six days to drain

    The 50m Corby international pool is being slowly emptied so maintenance and repairs can be carried out.

    Work started yesterday and the pool won't be empty until Boxing Day.

  15. Star Wars chef's food is his 'artistic expression'

    Along with creating some Star Wars inspired food Andy Kelly, head chef at Sophia's in Northampton, also created a dish to coincide with Back to the Future Day in October.

    "I'm an ex-art student. I'm using food as a medium for artistic expression," the 37-year-old chef said.

  16. Woman suffers broken ribs in Corby attack

    A woman in Corby has had her ribs broken and suffered cuts to her leg following a dispute with a taxi driver.

    She was assaulted in a parking area in Eastbrook on Saturday night between 22:45 and 23.15.

    The woman needed hospital treatment.

  17. Northampton chef's Star Wars-inspired menu in demand

  19. Police car vandalised in Daventry

    A large stone was thrown through the back window of a Vauxhall Astra Police car while it was parked in Tovey Drive last Thursday evening.

    Police want to hear from anyone with information.

    Last month a police car was set on fire in Daventry.
