  3. Carter look set to make debt against Saints in Champions Cup

    Northampton Saints are set to face New Zealand's World Cup-winning fly-half Dan Carter when they take on Racing 92 in Paris on Saturday.

    Carter, 33, will make his debut after arriving at Racing two weeks ago.

    The French club are second in Pool Two and can move ahead of first-placed Northampton with a win.

  4. Corby's Enterprise Centre allows small business to come across 'big'

    One company to have benefited from the Corby Enterprise Centre – which celebrates its fifth birthday today – is Complisoft, a software company.

    It was a one-man business when it moved into the Enterprise Centre six months after the centre opened, now it has seven employees with an eighth starting on Monday.

    The A43 Rockingham Road in Geddington is closed in both directions between the Weekley Wood Lane junction and the Harvester Roundabout because of a serious collision between two vehicles.

  8. Moped rider, 28, seriously injured in crash with a van this morning

    A 28-year-old man on a moped has been seriously injured in Northampton after being in a collision with a van in St James Road.

    The accident happened at 07:30. The van was a white Vauxhall Vivaro and the moped a black Aprilla.

    The moped rider has been transferred from Northampton General to University Hospital in Coventry.

    Australian all-rounder Steven Crook has signed a new three-year deal at Northamptonshire.

  10. Cake and speeches to celebrate Corby Enterprise Centre's fifth birthday

    The fifth anniversary of the Corby Enterprise Centre has been celebrated with speeches, a buffet lunch and, yes, a birthday cake.

    The centre was opened in 2010 to help small and start-up businesses.

    Gerry Reed, the centre manager, told me they have attracted "107 businesses to the centre" generating "growth of £3m for the area".

    Bar Hygge is a new business venture, from the Royal and Derngate.

  16. Lane closed on A45 in Northampton at Riverside

    There is one lane closed eastbound on the A45 in Northampton at Riverside due to a collision between three vehicles.

    There is congestion back to the Barnes Meadow interchange.

  17. Daventry council welcomes revised plans for town centre

    The submission of revised plans for a retail and leisure development to the north-west of Daventry town centre have been welcomed by Daventry district councillors.

    The plans include two food stores alongside a range of retail units.

    The proposed scheme will also include a family restaurant, fast food restaurant and a 60-bedroom hotel.
