  3. Waterfall wows Snow White panto audience

    A waterfall, believed to be the largest seen on a UK stage, is wowing audiences for this year's pantomime at Norwich's Theatre Royal.

    The 10 metre-wide (32 feet) single-drop waterfall includes:

    • 100m (328ft) of pipework feeding into three tanks
    • Seven tonnes of water, dropping at the rate of 6,000 litres of water per minute
    • All the water is recycled for each performance
  4. Christmas carol: Milly Hirst sings In The Bleak Midwinter

    Milly Hirst, a regular performer on BBC Introducing in Norfolk, has taken time out from recording her new album to perform a Christmas carol for BBC Look East.

    Here she is singing In the Bleak Midwinter in the grounds of St Mary's Church in Tivetshall.

  5. 'Gentleman's send-off' for World War II veteran

    A Facebook plea shared more than 700 times has ensured former RAF veteran John Davies is given a  "gentleman's send-off" tomorrow accompanied by standard bearers from RAF veterans' organisations and bikers riding escort with the coffin.

    Mr Davies, who was born and bred in Burgh Castle, died at a care home in Great Yarmouth earlier this month.  He had no surviving family and his funeral was expected to be poorly attended.

  9. Slight delays for evening rail passengers

    Greater Anglia is advising passengers of longer journey times on services from Liverpool Street to Norwich this evening and Wednesday evening because of planned engineering works.

  10. Flowers laid for A17 collision victims

    Flowers have been laid at the scene of a collision on the A17 at Terrington St Clement in which a young woman died and two children, aged five and eight, were critically injured.

    Evidence of the collision between a car and a lorry are still visible, with shards of glass on the roadside and two huge tyre tracks gouged into grass by the lorry. 

    Parish councillor David Shepperson is calling for urgent safety improvements for the junction.

    A change-of-use application to turn the Fayre View Restaurant in Diss into a four-bedroom house has been approved by South Norfolk Council.

  12. A148 remains closed following two vehicle crash

    Emergency services are still at the scene of a crash on the A148 at Fakenham in which four people were hurt.

    It happened between Trap Lane and Water Moor Lane shortly before 10:45.

    All four were taken to hospital. The road remains closed while a police investigation is carried out.

  14. Four injured in A148 accident

    Emergency services are on the scene of an crash between two vehicles on the outskirts of Fakenham, in which four people were injured.

    The A148 remains closed in both directions.

    Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

  15. BreakingMan charged with Norwich murder

    A 31-year-old man from Norwich has been charged with murder after a man in his 50s died in the city on Sunday.

    The victim was found with serious injuries at a property in Suffolk Square, at about 20:30.  

    Kristian Tarragan, who lives on the square, will appear via video link at Norwich Magistrates' Court later.

    There's little chance of a white Christmas in Norfolk, with temperatures looking to remain higher than normal for December.

    • An RAF veteran who died with no surviving family is to be given a send-off by ex-servicemen at his funeral tomorrow 
    • Peel Ports, the new owners of Great Yarmouth port, say the port is a great opportunity for growth in the town
  18. Appeal for witnesses to A17 fatal collision

    Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road collision between a car and an HGV lorry at Terrington St Clement on Monday.

    The silver Vauxhall car was travelling on Station Road towards the A17 junction and the white lorry was travelling on the A17 towards King's Lynn when they were involved in a collision about 14:00.

    The driver of the car, a woman in her 20's from Lincolnshire, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two children in the car have been taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge where they remain in a critical condition.
