    Two teenage drug dealers have been convicted of fatally stabbing a 43-year-old man in a Cheshire park.

    The 16-year-old boys from Liverpool, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were cleared of murdering Lee Briggs in St Marie's Park in Widnes.

    But a jury at Chester Crown Court found them guilty of manslaughter.

  5. Liverpool man, 24, charged in connection with scrambler bike crash in October

    A 24-year-old man has been charged in connection with a scrambler bike crash that happened in Warbreck Moor in October. 

    Anthony Long from Anfield has been charged with dangerous driving, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, driving whilst disqualified and no insurance. 

    He has been bailed until the new year.

  12. Man charged after scrambler bike collision

    A man has been charged after a scrambler-style motorbike collided with two men who were walking along a pavement in Aintree.

    The 24-year-old from Feltwell Road in Anfield has been charged with dangerous driving, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, driving whilst disqualified and with no insurance following the incident on Warbreck Moor in October, police said.  

  13. Muhammad Ali statue erected in Liverpool

    A bronze statue of Muhammad Ali has been erected on Jamaica Street in Liverpool's Baltic Triangle.

    It is called "The Greatest" and is made by artist Andrew Edwards and struck at the Castle Fine Arts Foundry.  

    It celebrates the famous American boxer, who died this year and once said: “You ain’t no fool if you from Liverpool”.

    Liverpool's Christmas Market has been suspended for the day, because of the weather.

    The council says "adverse winds" caused by Storm Barbara are affecting the market on St George's Plateau. 

    It is due to reopen tomorrow.

  16. Planned Stagecoach drivers strike in Wirral postponed after revised pay offer

    A planned strike by 120 Stagecoach drivers in Wirral's been postponed following a revised pay offer. 

    Members of the Unite union based at Rock Ferry had voted overwhelmingly for a two week walk-out starting next Wednesday. 

    Drivers will vote today and next week on whether to accept the offer 

  17. Men cleared of WhatsApp video share rape

    Two men accused of raping a woman they met in a nightclub and sharing explicit videos on WhatsApp are cleared of rape.
