  5. Council offers £20,000 in grants for Liverpool community improvement projects

    Liverpool City Council is offering money to help community groups that want to make their areas cleaner and greener.

    There is a £20,000 pot and teams can bid for grants of up to £500. 

    The Environmental Initiatives Fund has been set up by Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson, to make improvements in local neighbourhoods.

  8. Man in court over Hunt Cross retail park stabbing

    A man has appeared in court charged with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after a man was stabbed at Hunts Cross retail park.

    The 36-year-old is recovering after the attack in the car on Monday park.   

    A 38-year-old man who also faces charges of possession of a bladed article and criminal damage.

    He was remanded in custody by Liverpool magistrates to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 21 September.
