  10. Man appears in court on murder charge

    A Liverpool man is scheduled to appear before Shrewsbury Crown Court on Monday, charged with the murder of Michael Warham in Meole Brace at the start of the month.

    Declan Graves, who is 19, made an appearance before Telford magistrates this morning and will be held in custody until this next appearance.

  13. Woman arrested after Wirral drugs raid

    A "significant quantity" of suspected amphetamine has been seized in Wirral. 

    Police raided a property in Wallasey yesterday recovering 48kg of white powder along with mixing agents and other equipment. 

    A 24-year-old woman, from Wallasey, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply controlled drugs and was bailed pending further inquiries.

  14. Rescue dogs showcase athletic ability at 'Olympups'

    A charity is celebrating the success of Team GB at the Rio Olympics by putting on their own version of the world’s greatest sporting event – the Olympups, to keep their homeless hounds entertained.


    Animals at Dogs Trust Merseyside are putting their athletic prowess to good use as they enjoy a whole range of sports including the hurdles, the sprint, the high beam, tennis, discus, synchronized diving, long jump and the doggy paddle.

    Dogs Trust Merseyside manager Georgina Lowery said: “So many of our dogs love playing on the agility equipment which really keeps them mentally and physically stimulated.

    "Beautiful Benji, a five-year-old border collie cross, and Staffordshire bull terrier cross, Dennis, who is six, certainly give our canine carers a run for their money as they are so full of fun!"
