The Liverpool Wavertree MP was sent a number of emails, including one which said she would "get it like Jo Cox", South Tyneside magistrates were told.
John Nimmo, 28, admitted two counts of sending a message causing anxiety or distress. He was remanded to be sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court on 24 August.

Firefighters were called to the address in Prescot Road, Fairfield, after the blaze was reported on Monday.

Carl Cashman won the Prescot North seat in May's local elections, and is the party's group leader at Knowsley Council.
Other Liberal Democrats are expected to put their names forward in the coming weeks, with party members selecting their candidate by November.
The mayoral election takes place in May 2017.

A piece of Victorian technology has been brought back to life in Chester after lying unused for decades.Copyright: BBC
The camera obscura is situated on top of the 14th Century Water Tower on the city walls and uses lenses to project a 360 degree view of the city.
It offers panoramic views of landmarks including the town hall and Telford's Warehouse.
Set up by the Victorians, it eventually fell into disrepair but has been reinstalled by Cheshire West and Chester Council.

The victim suffered a broken wrist, kidney damage and cuts and grazing to his legs, back and arms.
Merseyside Police is appealing for witnesses after the incident, which happened between 01:00 and 04:00 on 17 July on Cross Lane, close to the junction with Florida Way.
