    The 20ft memorial, originally unveiled in 1922, remembers the local men who died during the two world wars.

    It should be finished next month and a grand unveiling is planned for September.

  5. Man wanted over knifepoint bike robbery in Liverpool park

    An e-fit picture of man wanted after a teenager's bike was stolen at knifepoint in Liverpool has been released.

    A 15-year-old boy was riding his bike through Everton Park on 10 June when a man who was holding a knife jumped in front of him and told him to get off.

    The boy was uninjured. Police are appealing for witnesses.

  6. Motorcycle stolen in Essex seized by Merseyside Police

    A stolen motorcycle has been seized by police in Kirkby after it went missing more than 200 miles away in Essex.

    Merseyside Police posted a photograph of the bike, which was stolen in April, on their Twitter account.
