  6. Weather: Motorists warned to prepare for snow

    Drivers across the North West are being urged to take extra care overnight and tomorrow morning, after the Met Office issued a yellow warning for snow in the region.

    Highways England has also issued an amber "be aware" alert for snow, lasting from midnight tonight to 06:00 tomorrow morning.

    The deluge is expected mostly over higher ground, but could affect parts of the M62.

  11. Liverpool comedian Mickey Finn dies aged 69

    Tributes are being paid to the Liverpool comedian Mickey Finn, who has died at the age of 69.

    He fell ill in November while appearing in Stan Boardman's play The Medals. 

    Fellow comedian John Martin has described him as a "brilliant ambassador for Liverpool", Ricky Tomlinson said he was "as funny off stage, as he was on" and Ken Dodd said it was "very, very sad news".

    Wirral residents lost more than £2m in the last financial year to Fixed Odds Betting Terminals in bookmakers, a local MP says.

    The terminals are touch-screen electronic machines offering a range of games including roulette and poker as well as virtual racing.

  14. Teenager charged after Dingle roof arrest

    An 18-year-old Merseyside man has been charged with a number of offences after police were called to deal with a man on a roof in Dingle on Tuesday. 

    The area around the house on Darnley Street had to be sealed off.

    The teenager has been charged with possession of a firearm, escape from lawful custody and possession of a controlled drug.
