    Clear spells at times tonight and it will be colder than last night, with a widespread frost and risk of ice.

    Wednesday will be very unsettled with frequent blustery, wintry showers and some snow settling in places through the morning. Strong winds, with gales possible around coastal areas such as Southport.

    A limited edition print by pop artist Sir Peter Blake has been unveiled for the Liverpool Biennial art festival.

    The new artwork, Dazzle, 2016, follows Blake's Everybody Razzle Dazzle in 2015 when he transformed Mersey ferry Snowdrop into a moving artwork.

    Sales of the print will go towards the Biennial education programme.

  6. YMCA to close as council ends contract

    Warrington's 160-year-old YMCA is expected to close in three months' time after losing a major council contract.

    The Cheshire town's borough council is reviewing its funding as part of a move to save £21m.

    The YMCA provides accommodation and advice for the homeless and vulnerable people but these will instead be delivered by other providers, said a spokesman. The charity said losing its £38,000 funding would have a "huge" impact.

  7. New research centre opens at Alder Hey

    A new research centre has been opened at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool.

    Academics will work alongside health professionals and commercial teams to research children's health at the Institute in the Park.

  8. Appeal to find missing Wirral teenager

    Police are appealing for help to trace a teenage girl who went missing from her home in Wirral on Sunday.

    Meadow Gore, 14, was last seen by her mother at around 10:00 at their home in New Chester Road.Meadow is described as white, about 5ft 6ins tall, with long, straight, black hair. She was wearing a black coat with a fur trim, white jeans and white Adidas trainers.

    Lukaku, 22, is one of the top scorers in the Premier League this season and in July 2014 cost Everton a club record fee of £28m.

    “He has the speed, he has the skills, he is good with his head,” says Amokachi, who played for the Toffees between 1994 and 1996 and was part of the team that won Everton's last trophy, the 1995 FA Cup.

  11. Wirral 'chemical spill': Three men taken to hospital "given the all-clear"

    Wirral Council say the three members of the Biffa bin crew involved in the Bebington chemical spill earlier have been given the all-clear at hospital.

    A 100m cordon in still in place after a liquid started leaking from the back of a bin lorry in Fairacres Road.

    People are being advised to avoid the area and local residents have been told to close their windows as a precaution.

    This is the scene in Wirral where there has been a "chemical spill" this morning.

    Three men have been taken to hospital after a liquid started leaking from the back of a bin lorry in Fairacres Road, Bebington and caused a chemical reaction, releasing a vapour.

    A Liverpool fan is appealing for help finding his Robbie Fowler flag.

    The giant 15ft long banner was last seen at the League Cup final at Wembley on Sunday but it disappeared when Tony Henny went to collect it.

    It was made by brothers Tony and Stephen Henny in 1998 and has been to games around the world including the Istanbul Champions League final.

  15. New Liverpool Biennial 'dazzle' print revealed

    A limited edition print for the Liverpool Biennial designed by renowned artist Sir Peter Blake is being unveiled in the city.
