In her impact statement, one of Alison's sisters said the murder had "left a place in our hearts which can never be filled", adding that the 36-year-old's young daughters are having to deal with her "brutal and pointless death".
Sentencing him, the judge said Duggan had attacked the pair in a drunken temper and his crimes had affected the lives of "many others". As Duggan left the dock, he smirked.

Liverpool Crown Court was told Stephen Duggan stabbed 36-year-old Alison Wilson in the neck with a broken bottle on Frank Street in Widnes in March.
The jury found him guilty of murdering Ms Wilson and wounding her friend Anthony Tomlinson with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
An eyewitness said a security guard was hit over the head after thieves made off with a box of cash during a robbery at a Formby supermarket.
