A difficult period of four games in 10 days ended well for Manchester United with victory over Manchester City in the EFL Cup, and now Jose Mourinho wants his side to begin closing the six-point gap to the top of the Premier League.

Three of their next league games are at home, starting with Burnley at Old Trafford, so will Mourinho selected his strongest side to ensure three points, or risk resting some of those who played midweek?

He is also likely to be asked about the FA charge against him for comments about referee Anthony Taylor before the Liverpool game, captain Wayne Rooney's future after he was left out again, and his own living arrangements after admitting it is a "disaster" being in a hotel.

The delicate dessert was made by blowing an apple shape out of gold sugar and filling it with spiced empire apples, meadowsweet flavoured custard and a crumble mix made with oats, hazelnuts and demerara sugar.

It was then surrounded with a granita made from Granny Smith apple juice frozen in liquid nitrogen.

The competition was incredibly tough but I feel really honoured to cook with the other guys at the banquet and see my dish in such an esteemed environment.

Wind farm expansion public inquiry due to end

Peel Energy and United Utilities want to add a further 16 turbines at Scout Moor.

Planning permission was granted by both Rochdale and Rossendale councils but the government called in the decision.

After eight days of evidence including a visit to the site of Scout Moor, the inquiry is hearing the final arguments for and against expansion.

Speaking on behalf of local residents, chartered town planner Tom Whitehead said the impact of Scout Moor on tackling climate change and meeting the country's energy needs had been significantly overestimated.

He said residents were tired of consistently fighting plans for more wind turbines in the area.

Timothy Leader, the barrister for Rochdale and Rossendale councils, said the extension would be a "force for good" that could be achieved "without causing any unacceptable harm to the landscape".

The government is expected to announce its decision next year.

Possible sites have been identified in Trafford, Salford, Stockport, Bury, Oldham and Rochdale.

Under the Spatial Framework strategy, councils will select areas where the houses could be built over the next 20 years but say they will prioritise building on brownfield sites.

Eamonn Boylan, chief executive at Stockport Council, says building on protected land will be unavoidable with the population likely to increase by 300,000 in Greater Manchester in the next 10 years.

If current plans are approved by councillors, there will be an eight-week consultation before another draft proposal is put together for next year.
