  6. Rio 2016 parade: Deansgate turns 'ghostly'

    Luke Reddy

    BBC Sport

Hunting for early signs of Rio parade carnage in Manchester is a tad underwhelming.

The typically hectic Deansgate is ghostly in terms of traffic as camera crews rig up. There are clearly a tonne of stewards lined up to help all the bollards and signage make sense to the masses later on.

Business men in suits wear a look of concern on their face, "how will I escape what's brewing here to get home?"

I'm going to try and count the British flags today. We have one...

A 23-year-old man who died following a collision in Bolton has been described as a "loving father" by his family.

    Newby family

Kadeel Hanaway-Newby, 23, died last Wednesday after the car he was travelling in crashed into railings in Horwich.

His wife Korrette Newby said: “He was a loving father to Kashai, six, and Lauriyon, three, and spent lots of time playing with them and often did the school and nursery runs for them.

“He had an interest in boxing and also loved his cars and driving."

Quote Message: Because we spent so much time together people would say ‘where’s Korrette and Kadeel? Or ‘have you seen Korette and Kadeel?’ They never referred to us separately. It’s so hard knowing that won’t be said anymore because I’m on my own now. We can’t believe this has happened. We are all absolutely devastated. from Korrette Newby Wife of Kadeel Hanaway-Newby
