Manchester United play City at Old Trafford at 12:30 on Saturday in one of the most eagerly anticipated derbies for decades.

Both United and City have new 'super coaches' in Mourinho and Guardiola respectively and have started the Premier League season with 100% records.

Both spent heavily in the record-breaking summer transfer window, with United re-signing Paul Pogba for an £89m world record fee, and City making £47.5m John Stones the second most expensive defender in history.

  5. Man 'posted get well card after setting sister on fire'

A man set fire to his sister and later posted her a "get well soon" card that read "Karma has punished you through me", a court has heard.

    Julie Archer/picture of the fire

Julie Archer, 49, died in hospital three days after a blaze at her home in Surbiton Road, Newton Heath, on 29 February.

Her brother Stephen Archer, 50, has been accused of going into the property armed with a Pepsi bottle that contained an "aggressively flammable" liquid before emptying it on her and igniting the vapour.

There was "growing hostility" following the illness and death of their father, the court heard.

The jury heard that before she died, Ms Archer said: "He's done it, he's thrown it at me... My brother Stephen, he has been threatening to kill me and my sister for the last three weeks since my dad died."

Mr Archer later posted a card to his sister and wrote: "I couldn't kill you and never will but I can't forgive you for what you did to my dad and uncle."

Mr Archer denies murder and arson with intent to endanger life at Manchester Crown Court.

"We are all shocked," said one local woman. "You don't expect it do you?"

Greater Manchester Police said a man, aged 25, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and a 24-year-old woman is being held on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of a child.

Graham Stringer, MP for Blackley and Broughton, made the suggestion after a parliamentary committee said urgent repairs costing £4bn were needed at the palace.

The Labour MP said, if civil servants did not want to move their lives north for six years, that was "up to them".

  10. Aguero ban makes Man City 'more difficult'

    BBC Sport

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says it will be "more difficult" facing a Manchester City side that does not include Sergio Aguero on Saturday.

    Sergio Aguero

The Argentina forward, 28, is serving a three-match ban for his violent conduct in City's 3-1 win against West Ham.

Aguero has scored three goals in three Premier League matches this season, but Mourinho says his absence makes Pep Guardiola's side "unpredictable".

"He doesn't play and they have amazing options," said Mourinho.
