    Have a great weekend.

  2. Tonight's weather: Mostly dry

    BBC Weather

It will be dry with clear spells during the evening, and it will turn chilly in some spots across London. Cloud will eventually thicken enough during the early hours to bring a few light outbreaks of rain and winds will strengthen too.

    Minimum temperature: 9C (48F).

  3. Man jailed for possession of two kilos of cocaine

A man detained by police in possession of two kilos of cocaine, with potential street value of £200,000, was jailed today for five years.

Harrow Crown Court heard how Kledian Semaj, 30, of no fixed address was seen by officers taking part in a drug deal.

Pleading guilty, Semaj received four years and eight months for possession with intent to supply, and an additional four months for possession of false documents.

DC Paul Fuller said: "A huge amount of cocaine is now off the streets where it cannot damage local communities.”

  4. Mayor urges vehicle manufacturers to compensate for toxic diesels

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, is calling on vehicle manufacturers to contribute to his Air Quality Fund in recognition of the negative impacts their diesel vehicles have on air quality and public health in London.

Sadiq has written to UK chiefs at BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen urging them to take “serious action” on diesel emissions.

He is also calling on government to secure contributions from vehicle manufacturers on the same scale as the £24 billion received from Volkswagen (including fines, compensation and other settlements) in the US and £223 million from German car manufacturers in Germany.

So far, the UK Government has only secured £1 million of funding, the mayor said.

Quote Message: “Londoners will be baffled by the double standards of these car manufacturers. On the one hand, they admit they’ve got to cut emissions from their vehicles, but they confine their funding to Germany alone. "This is ridiculous, as their vehicles are driven all over Europe, including on London’s roads. They must apply the same approach across all the markets that they trade in.” from Sadiq Khan Mayor of London

Glynn Barton, TfL’s director of road space management, said: “I am concerned we have had to prosecute BT for the second time within a year for breaches which put public safety at considerable risk."

Since 2010, BT has been fined a total of £67,270 for various streetworks offences.

  7. Father loses IVF damages claim

A father has lost a damages claim against a London IVF clinic after his ex-partner forged his signature to use frozen embryos.

The High Court found IVF Hammersmith was not negligent.

    Olaseni Lewis

All the disciplinary charges against six police officers over the restraint-related death of Olaseni Lewis in 2010 have been dismissed.

A misconduct tribunal ruled that the charges of gross misconduct were "not proven" and any failings were "performance matters".

Mr Lewis, who was 23, died after collapsing at a mental health hospital in south London.
