    A production for children who are deafblind is being staged for the first time.

    The Oily Cart theatre company, based in south London, have produced a show for those who are deafblind with or without any cognitive impairment.

    Kubla Khan is a multi sensory performance of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem enhanced by live music, touch, taste and smell.

    The interactive performance is limited to six young people at a time, each supported by an adult carer to maximise their involvement.

  4. Man, 27, dies of stab wounds after being found in Islington

    A 27-year-old man died in the early hours of this morning after being found with stab wounds last night in Islington.

    A murder investigation has now been launched.

    The victim had been found at about 18:50 last night in Mitchison Road but he died at 02:30 today in an east London hospital.

  8. Rhodri Colwyn Philipps abandons appeal over Gina Miller post

    A viscount has abandoned his appeal against a conviction for posting malicious Facebook messages after a judge warned his 12-week prison sentence could be increased.

    Rhodri Colwyn Philipps was last month found guilty on two counts of making malicious communications.

    An online post offered £5,000 to anyone who ran over businesswoman Gina Miller, and another related to an immigrant.

    A judge said there was a "risk" his sentence could increase if he appealed.

  9. Vilson Meshi death: Pair sentenced for manslaughter

    Two teenagers have been jailed over the death of a man who was burned alive in his car when a marine flare was thrown into it.

    Vilson Meshi, 30, was found in a burnt-out Audi A4 in Pitsea, Essex, on 27 February 2016.

    At Chelmsford Crown Court Keani Hobbs, 18, of Pitsea, Essex, and a boy, 16, from Camberwell, south London, who cannot be named because of his age, were convicted of manslaughter.

    Hobbs was given a nine-year sentence and the boy was detained for six years.

    Both defendants were also convicted of theft and their sentences for that offence will run concurrently to the sentence for manslaughter.

  11. 42% of Grenfell Tower charity donations distributed so far

    The Charity Commission has issued an update on the distribution of Grenfell Tower charitable donations.

    • £7.8m has been distributed to date
    • 42% of the total raised has now been distributed
    • An extra £2m has been distributed in the last week

    £18.8m has been raised so far.
