  3. Water fight inquiry officer release new suspect images

    Suspects

    Detectives investigating a water fight that spiralled out of control and agroup who stormed a branch of McDonald's have released 12 new pictures ofsuspects.

    Three people, including a police officer, were stabbed when crowds at an event in Hyde Park became aggressive on 19 July.

    A second police officer was injured when they were hit by a flying bottle. 

    The same evening, a branch of McDonald's in Marble Arch was ransacked, with a group jumping over the counter and grabbing food. 

    As well as releasing the new pictures today, Scotland Yard appealed for any witnesses who have video footage of what happened to upload it.

  4. PC Yvonne Fletcher murder suspect has money laundering investigation dropped

    A suspect in the 1984 murder of police officer Yvonne Fletcher will face no further action over money laundering.

    The Libyan national, who is in his 50s, is still under investigation over the killing, but was told on Thursday there was not enough evidence to charge him over the alleged financial crime, Scotland Yard said today.

    Two other Libyans, a woman in her 40s and a man in his 30s, were also arrested over claims of money laundering but will also face no further action.

    PC Fletcher was killed as she policed a demonstration against Colonel Muammar Gaddafi outside the Libyan People's Bureau in St James's Square on 17 April 1984.

    The shooting sparked a 10-day siege of the building before 30 of the occupants were deported back to Libya. No-one has ever been prosecuted over the killing.

    A reward of up to £50,000 is being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of those responsible.

  5. Men found guilty of murder and burying victim in Epping Forest

    Two Turkish nationals have been found guilty of the murder of Hidir Aksakal, 53, who died from gunshot wounds on 17 August in north London.

    Remzi Akguc, 41, of Charles Rowan House, Margery Street, west London and Yilmaz Coskun, 36, of no fixed address killed Mr Aksakal in Tottenham and then buried him in Epping Forest in September.

    They were both also found guilty of preventing a lawful burial and will be sentenced tomorrow.

  7. Kilburn cafe owner 'killed with machete in front of customers'

    A cafe owner was stabbed to death with a "machete" in front of customers, witnesses have claimed.

    The 48-year-old was attacked in Efe's cafe on Kilburn High Road, north London, at about 19:00 yesterday. He was taken to hospital but later died, police said.

    Landlord Bryan Mannion, who runs a neighbouring pub, said he saw the victim collapse in the cafe's doorway.

    A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody.

  8. Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding to star in Ghost The Musical

    Sarah Harding will make her theatre debut in a new production of Ghost The Musical.

    The former member of Girls Aloud will play Molly - the character portrayed by Demi Moore in the original film.

    Andy Moss, best known as Rhys Ashworth in Channel 4's Hollyoaks, will play Sam - the role made famous on the big screen by Patrick Swayze.

    After a short run at the New Wimbledon Theatre in September, Ghost the Musical will tour the UK - ending in Nottingham in December.

  10. WATCH: Bridge collapse causes rail chaos

    Trains between London and the midlands are affected by bridge collapse. 

    The collapse, at Barrow Upon Soar, near Loughborough, happened in the early hours.

    Network Rail has been working to clear the route but does not expect it to re-open quickly.
