  3. Beacons of Light to mark Armistice Day

    Preparations are being made to mark Armistice Day in Lincolnshire this weekend.


    A number of places in the county are taking part in the Beacons of Light event, when thousands of beacons will be lit across the country on Sunday evening.

    A portrait of a solider will also be drawn in the sand on the beach at Sutton on Sea as part of a national project being led by the film director Danny Boyle.

  4. Police searching for missing man

    Police officers say they're extremely concerned for the welfare of missing man Jordan Wass.

    The 24-year-old hasn't been seen since Tuesday 6 November in Spilsby.

    They are urgently seeking help in finding him.

  5. Police locate vehicles used in Co-op cash machine theft

    Lincolnshire Police have found a car and a van which are believed to have been used in the theft of a cash machine from a Lincolnshire Co-op yesterday.


    The store in North Somercotes was targeted the day after it opened.

    Police found "a large hole in the side of the shop" at about 00:55 GMT, adding the wall "suffered extensive damage".

    The van was found near to Goole and the car was in Askern in Doncaster.

  6. Everest watch up for auction

    A Lincolnshire watch that's been up Mount Everest is being auctioned off.


    The watch, made by Loomes & Co in Stamford, was worn last year by the Gurkha climbing team.

    They're hoping to sell it for around £20,000.

  7. Roof jump man wins £3m in compensation from NHS

    A patient who jumped from the roof of Boston Pilgrim Hospital after hearing voices in his head has won millions of pounds in compensation from the NHS.

    London's High Court today heard how the man, who was in his twenties at the time, was being escorted into the garden for a cigarette by two carers when he climbed on top of the smoking shelter and then onto the hospital roof.

    After desperate attempts to try and talk him down ended in failure he jumped.

    The man, who's now in his 30s and who can't be named, suffered brain damage and catastrophic spinal injuries.

    His lawyers sued the Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust for a lump sum of £3m after admitting it should have done more to protect the man from himself.

    On top of that he will receive £165,000 a year to pay for his care for the rest of his life.

  8. Schools' Remembrance service

    Hundreds of children from 12 schools have gathered to honour Lincolnshire's contribution to World War One.


    A children's Service of Remembrance, at the International Bomber Command Centre, was held today ahead of the centenary of the end of World War One on Sunday.

    Schools designed their own wreaths and pupils read winning poems from a special competition.

  9. Pedestrian seriously injured in A1 crash

    A man is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car on the A1 last night.

    It happened on the southbound carriageway near Foston at about 19:00.

    Anyone with information is being asked to contact officers.

  11. Poppy tin disappears

    A poppy tin has gone missing from St Peter's Church in Woodhall Spa.

    It contained donations for the British Legion.

    The church says the police and the British Legion have been informed.

    They are asking anyone with information to come forward.
