  5. Hunt for man who posed as police officer

    Lincolnshire Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to after a man posed as an officer to trick an elderly man out of thousands of pounds in Boston.

    The man, who was believed to be driving a Black Mercedes or Audi Saloon, told the man to withdraw cash from his bank and hand it over.

    Over £4,000 was handed over at around 15:00 on 11 October and a further £3,000 handed over at around 17:00 from the victim’s address in Hubberts Bridge.

    The offender is thought to be in his 20s.

  6. Gainsborough 'safer' after pub loses licence

    People in Gainsborough are far safer now that a town pub no longer has an alcohol licence, say police.

    The White Hart Hotel is without a licence after previous holder Sharon Hopkinson surrendered it.

    The former Town Councillor has been convicted of drugs offences.

    Speaking during a licence hearing today, a Lincolnshire Police officer said they had evidence of repeated breaches of the licence conditions, including a rise in assaults and brawls.

    Ms Hopkinson did not attend today's hearing due to ill health.

  7. Gym's future up in the air due to Scampton closure

    The MP for Scunthorpe says he's going to be meeting with the government to discuss the future of a gym in Kirton in Lindsey which is linked to RAF Scampton.

    The facilities at Kirton in Lindsey are run by the Ministry of Defence, but there's concern the closure of the historic RAF base in 2022 could see them shut.

    Nick Dakin has said he's going to meet with the Secretary of State for Defense Gain Williamson to argue the case for it staying open for the community.
