  6. Pedestrian dies after collision in Skegness

    A man who was hit by a car in Skegness on Wednesday has died.

    The crash happened on Wainfleet Road just before 19:30.

    A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

  7. 'Next stop was France' - RNLI rescues child on inflatable

    Mablethorpe and Alford police have tweeted this warning to people on the Lincolnshire coast after the RNLI had to rescue a child floating out to sea:

    It's understood that his mother lost hold of a rope attached to the dinghy.

    The RNLI crew picked up the youngster at Huttoft.

    It comes after Skegness traders banned the sale of inflatables following a number of rescues of people on the toys due to the strong coastal winds.

  8. Two arrested over Lincoln stabbing

    Two men, one aged 18 and the other 19, have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Lincoln.

    A man was taken to hospital following the incident on Napier Street, in the Monks Road area of the city, on Wednesday night.

  9. Cause of major house fire revealed

    The location where a serious blaze started at a house in Bracebridge Heath earlier this week has been identified, according to Lincolnshire Fire Service.


    The blaze, on Wednesday, started in the fireplace of a neighbouring house and then spread through the chimney up into the roof, it's emerged.

    At its height, a total of about 35 firefighters tackled the fire.

  10. Wanted man found by police

    Lincolnshire Police say they have found James Pennell.

    Officers had been searching for the 28-year-old in connection with two domestic incidents.

    They happened in North Somercotes and Louth on Saturday and Sunday.

  11. Lincolnshire A-level pass rate above national average

    A day after students nervously opened their envelopes, it's been revealed the A-level pass rate in the county is 97.8%, which is well above the national average.

    Three-quarters of students achieved three or more A-levels, with one quarter of all entries successful at the highest A* to A grades and half of all grades at A* to B grades.

  12. Murder investigation launched in Grimsby

    The death of a man in Grimsby is being treated as murder, say police.


    Emergency services were called to a property on Oxford Street at about 23:40 on Wednesday after reports a man had been seriously injured.

    Peter Craven, 48, was later pronounced dead at the scene.

    A post-mortem examination has revealed Mr Craven had suffered serious head injuries.

    A 47-year-old man was arrested yesterday in connection with Mr Craven's death.

    A 35-year-old man has also been arrested today.

  13. Delays expected after serious crash on A157

    There's been a serious crash at the crossroads with the A157 and B1225 Caistor High Street.

    Police are asking drivers to avoid the area if possible.

  14. Expensive pedigree kittens stolen in Louth

    Police in Louth are appealing for information after two black Persian kittens worth hundreds of pounds were stolen in the town.


    It's thought the two male kittens were stolen from an outhouse on Wallis Road between 11:30 and 16:45 on Wednesday 15 August.

    Anyone with information about their whereabouts or about the theft is being asked to contact police.
