  3. Crop damaged by fire

    Around 200 sq m of crop in Scotter have been damaged by fire this afternoon.

    Fire crews from Gainsborough attended the call on Brigg Road.

    It was caused by a bonfire being left unattended.

  4. Schools attempt 115 miles in 24 hours

    As we head into the summer holidays two schools in Grantham are undertaking quite the challenge.

    Groups from Ambergate Sports College and Sandon School which make up Grantham Additional Needs Fellowship (GANF) are attempting a 24-hour, 115-mile relay run across the county.

    They cater for pupils between the ages of three and 19 with moderate to severe learning difficulties and complex needs.

    They want to raise £2,000 to improve the school's outdoor amphitheatre.

  5. Power cut in Scunthorpe

    Around 160 premises in the Scunthorpe area are experiencing a power cut this afternoon.

    Northern Powergrid say they don't expect to have the supply fully restored until late this evening.

    Postcode areas DN2,DN3,DN32,DN7 are affected.

  6. Committee chair sorry for colleagues' negative comments

    The chairman of a council committee which branded children's ideas for Boston Market Place 'tacky' and 'bonkers' says she's extremely disappointed with her colleagues.

    Pupils from Boston High School submitted the plans to Boston Borough Council, but some members said an idea for an archway would be a "waste of money".

    Councillor Judith Skinner has apologised for the negative comments:

  7. Woman admits GBH on baby

    A Lincolnshire woman who admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm to a five-month-old baby is due to be sentenced later this year.

    Jamie-Lee Lauren Cooper, 30, from Billinghay near Sleaford, appeared before Lincoln Crown Court today.

    She was granted bail and will appear in court again in September.

  8. Window fall boy was 'vibrant' and 'incredibly kind'

    The school of a Lincoln boy who died after falling out of a window have said they are 'devastated' by the news of his death.

    In a statement the headteacher of Monks Abbey Primary School, Vicky Johnson described William Coy as "a vibrant boy who was incredibly kind".

    Quote Message: He seemed to have a gift for knowing when others needed help; qualities which made him very popular with his peers and staff alike. Most of all William talked with great affection about his family and came to school every day with a smile. It is hard to describe how much he will be missed by friends, staff and the whole school community.

    The school are also providing support to the children and staff.

  10. Fundraising page for boy fall death family

    A fundraising page has been set up to raise money for the family of a 6-year-old boy who died after falling from a window in Lincoln.

    The incident happened on Tuesday night, at a property on Lindum Avenue.

    The boy's been named locally as William Coy.
