A long running dispute over whether to scrap some of Lincolnshire's councils has seen fresh clashes today.Â

The authority has agreed to hold a consultation into whether there's public approval for the idea of
combining some district councils
with the county council.
But plans for a formal referendum will not go ahead, despite County Council leader Martin Hill promising one earlier this year.
Cllr Hill argues that the changes could save millions of pounds.
John Hough, leader of the opposition called the idea an "empty proposition".

County Council votes to increase tax
Sharon Edwards
Political Reporter, BBC Radio Lincolnshire
Lincolnshire county council has voted to increase tax by 3.95%.
New measures relaxing the rules put in place to protect against the spread of Avian Flu won't affect Lincolnshire's farmers.
They are being told their poultry is still at risk of the disease, so must still keep birds inside or under cover.

Lincolnshire's farmers were originally told the restrictions would end next week.
Some flocks' free range status could be at risk because of the length of time the birds have been enclosed.
But the Department for Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) says producers in higher risk areas can still market eggs as free range if they use netting and meet other criteria.

Storm Doris Rescue: Prosthetic leg used in bid to smash window
Harry Parkhill
BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire
More on this story we heard about earlier.
It seems that a rather unusual tool was used to attempt to smash the window of lorry which turned over in high winds.
Stuart Tweedale helped save a driver from his lorry which tipped over in Storm Doris.
It turns out that another motorist, Craig Nairn, cracked the window with his leg before finishing the job with a hammer from the boot of his car.
The pair (pictured) then pulled the driver to safety from the lorry, which had been leaking diesel.
