  5. Former Scunthorpe United midfielder joins Grimsby Town

    More now on Grimsby's new signing.

    Midfielder Sean McAllister is joining the team on a two-year deal following his release by League One Scunthorpe United.

    The 28-year-old has also had spells with Sheffield Wednesday, Bury, Mansfield, Shrewsbury and Port Vale.

    McAllister is the second former Iron player to join Grimsby this summer, following the signing of Andrew Boyce.

  6. Nurse tried to hide mistake that contributed to death of patient

    A nurse's mistake contributed to the death of a patient at Lincoln County Hospital according to a Nursing and Midwifery Council hearing. 

    It heard that Leigh Pendrigh hadn't correctly used a defibrillator a number of times in one afternoon in February 2014 then "sought to conceal" her mistake. 

    She's been given a three year caution order and was dismissed from her position at the hospital, she now works as a community nurse.

  7. Three sentenced for armed robbery in Skegness

    Two men and a woman who carried out a frightening armed robbery in Skegness on Christmas Eve have been sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court today. 

    At the Spar shop on Winthorpe Avenue two men wearing balaclavas forced their way into the store brandishing a machete (pictured) and a imitation pistol before making off on a moped with just under £1,000 from the till.

    Michael David Elston (pictured below) ,34, of Standon Road, Sheffield, pleaded guilty to armed robbery and has been sentenced to five years and seven months in prison.

    Brian Buttery (pictured below) 34, of Fife Gardens, Sheffield, pleaded guilty to assisting an offender and has been sentenced to three years in prison.

    Vivianne Agus, 47, of Emerson Crescent, Sheffield, also pleaded guilty to assisting an offender and has received a six month sentence, suspended for two years.

  12. Calls to bring dog thefts to heel

    Campaigners are calling for tougher sentencing for dog thieves

    They want a specific crime of "pet theft" to be introduced.

    Lincolnshire Police had the thefts of 166 dogs reported since 2013. 

    The figures obtained by the BBC puts the county in the top 10 in England when it comes to dog theft.

    It's just south of Market Deeping betwen the B1524 Lincoln road junctions and J22 Werrington Bridge Road.

    The javelin thrower from Holton Le Clay near Louth is in the first group of track and field athletes to be announced.
