    I'm in Wragby this afternoon, where road closures are coming into force at 18.00 - there's a 45-mile diversion to avoid them. 

    It's quite quiet at the moment - but there's bound to be some confusion later.

  6. Traffic and travel across Lincolnshire: Accidents causing problems

    Emergency services are  dealing with four road collisions in the county this afternoon. Roads affected are:

    A15 at Langtoft south of Bourne traffic affected in both directions.

    A157 at South Reston, near Louth.

    A607 at Belton, near Grantham.

    A17 between East Heckington and Swineshead Bridge.

  7. Tyres slashed on eight vehicles in Scunthorpe street

    The  tyres on eight vehicles were slashed in Scunthorpe's Frodingham Road yesterday.

    The damage is said to have been caused between 12.40 and 14:00 BST with vehicles parked between Digby Street and Sheffield Street targeted.

    Officers leading the investigation are keen to speak to two men and woman seen close to cars in the area at the time who left in the direction of Berkeley Street.  

  8. Firefighter retires after 50 years service

    He signed up when he was just aged 18 and since then Brian Walshingham has been involved in hundreds of life-saving call outs.

    But now, at the age of 68, he's decided his firefighting days are behind him.

    Mr Walshingham has been part of the retained fire crew at Corby Glen, south of Grantham for five decades.

    He's pictured here with watch manager Kyle Campbell, who's now got the job of finding someone to replace him.

  11. Football: Iron boss throws down gauntlet to youngsters

    Scunthorpe United manager Graham Alexander has challenged the younger players at the club to take advantage of new Football League rules for next season.

    Clubs will only be able to bring in players on loan during the two transfer windows. 

    Alexander believes that could benefit the likes of Iron youth graduates Levi Sutton, Noel Burdett and Jack Dyche.

  12. Football: Slade on way to Charlton

  16. Roadworks lead to 45-mile diversion

    Drivers heading to the Lincolnshire coast are being warned they face a 45-mile diversion over the next few days.

    Three weeks of resurfacing start today on the A158 at Wragby. 

    Lincolnshire County Council says although the road will be kept open as much as possible, the diversion is unavoidable.
