  3. Carol Vorderman flies into Lincolnshire ahead of solo-flight attempt

    TV presenter Carol Vorderman is to attempt to become the ninth woman ever to complete a solo flight around the world.

    Her journey will see her travel through Europe, across Asia, north to the eastern-most point of Russia, across the Pacific Ocean, the United States and then finally she will make her way back through the icy north towards the United Kingdom.

    Today the TV star flew into Lincolnshire to visit personnel at RAF Coningsby.

  4. Traffic and travel: Road blocked following accident

    The A52 near Boston is closed in both directions between Bicker and Donington following a multi vehicle collision.

    It's between the B1181 Mill Lane junction and the Day's Lane junction.

  5. 'Deadliest start to a year' on Lincolnshire's roads

    Road safety officials have confirmed it has been the deadliest start to a year on Lincolnshire's roads.

    So far this year there have been 21 fatal collisions, leading to 23 deaths.

    Will Morgan, 17, is the latest fatality. 

    He died when his motorcycle collided with a tractor on a road in Thornton near Woodhall Spa.

    Traffic moving very slow in both directions on the B1003 Tritton Road in Lincoln.

    The road is partially blocked at the Skellingthorpe Road junction, because of an accident.

  9. Football: Piergianni breaks nose in play-off clash

    Boston United defender Carl Piergianni is recovering after suffering a broken nose during last night's Play-Off clash against North Ferriby United.

    A mid-air collision between Boston's Scott Garner and Piergianni ended the defender’s evening with 13 minutes to go.

    The injury was just one of many battle wounds picked up in what was a highly charged game.

    But the Pilgrims have the advantage going into Sunday's second leg winning the match 2-0. 

  10. Police host event to tackle modern-day slavery

    A special day is being held later this month to tackle modern slavery. 

    Lincolnshire Police are bringing businesses and organisations together at a special event on the county showground to highlight the problem.

    Temp Insp Annabelle Hardy said: “Modern slavery may seem like something that happens to "other people" but the simple fact is that those other people could be closely linked with you in some way, especially if you are a business owner or manager."

  11. Tributes paid to teenager killed in motorcycle crash

    Tributes are being paid to a 17-year-old who died in a motorbike crash in Lincolnshire. 

    The teenager, named locally as Will Morgan, was in collision with a farm vehicle on the B1191 near Woodhall Spa yesterday afternoon.

  12. Man arrested over caravan theft

    A man has been arrested in connection with a caravan theft in Ingoldmells.

    The caravan was stolen at around 04:00 yesterday from the site in Boltons Lane.

    The 29-year-old man from Chesterfield has been bailed as inquiries continue.

  15. Police appeal after hit and run

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was knocked off his bike in Fulstow, near Louth.

    He suffered serious leg injuries from the incident involving a dark coloured car that failed to stop.

  16. Football: Mariners confident ahead of play-off clash

    Grimsby town can take a big step closer to winning promotion back to the football league after a six-year absence. 

    The play-offs semi final first leg takes place at Blundell Park tonight against Braintree Town.
