  2. Reassurance events to be held following fatal fire

    Following Wednesday's fatal fire in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, in which a man died at a commercial property on Market Street, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service will be holding some community reassurance sessions.

    The fire service will be on hand in the town tomorrow and on Tuesday to give advice to local business owners and residents.

    The rain could be heavy at times but will become patchier in the early hours.

  6. Police appeal after man was knocked unconscious in Leicester

    Police are asking for help to identify this man captured on CCTV...

    It's after an 18-year-old man was assaulted in Leicester last month.

    He was knocked unconscious outside a premises on East Gates in Leicester and needed hospital treatment for an injury to his face.

    It happened on Saturday 4 February.

  7. Police find 150 cannabis plants in Thorpe Astley house

    Police have discovered this cannabis factory at a house in Thorpe Astley...

    Officers went into the property on Priestman Road on Wednesday and discovered more than 150 cannabis plants in the top floor of the address.

    No-one was arrested and police are investigating.

  8. Five arrested after attempt to steal Aldi cash machine

    You might remember back in December last year there was an attempt to steal the cash machine at Aldi on Meridian Way.

    Well police have said they've just arrested five people in the West Leicester area in connection with the offence.


    Four men aged between 19 and 42 have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.

    A 39-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of possession of criminal property.

    All are in police custody.

    Have you seen this man? Leicestershire Police have told us he's been reported missing and his family are feeling "increasingly worried".

  11. Foxes to get some 'bonding time' on a trip away

    It looks like the Foxes will be heading away for some spring sunshine soon.

    Craig Shakespeare said the club is taking the players away for a few days after the Hull game - a trip that has apparently been in the pipeline for a few months.

  12. Ulloa fit and 'raring to go'

    Going back to the game against Hull this weekend, Craig Shakespeare said he thinks the game is "bigger" that the match against Liverpool.

    He said: "We have to put in another performance. The players realise that. 

    "The first start is getting back-to-back wins and I’m confident with the squad we have we can pull away (from the relegation zone).”

    When asked about Leonardo Ulloa (who had said he wouldn't play for the club again ), Shakespeare said: “It was just a case of him getting fit. He’s raring to go.”

  13. Foxes interim boss 'comfortable' with recruitment process

    Craig Shakespeare has started his press conference by confirming "everyone’s fit" for their game against Hull this weekend.

    He then moved on to the topic everyone is talking about - who will be Claudio Ranieri's long-term successor.

    The clubs interim boss said: “I’ll leave that to the powers that be. I’ve been told to prepare for this game.

    “I’ve been kept informed and I’m quite comfortable with that."

    When asked about the Roy Hodgson rumours he said it was "just speculation".

  15. Elderly woman punched in face during attempted burglary

    A man forced himself into a house in Leicester and demanded money from a 77-year-old woman.

    He then punched the woman in the face - she needed hospital treatment for her injuries.

    The man didn't get any cash and didn't taken anything from the house on Richmond Road on Wednesday. 

    Det Cons Matthew Wiggins said: “This was a nasty attack on an elderly woman in the middle of the day at a busy period and there would have been numerous people around.

    “If you may have seen the suspect either before or after the offence, or have any information that may assist, please contact me.”
