    Schoolchildren have been speaking about meeting Prince Charles in Mountsorrel this afternoon.

    One child said: "It was awesome - I met him and I shook his hand."

    Another said: "It was really exciting - when he drove past he looked at me and I think he smiled as well so that was so cool."

  10. Prison damage cost 'thousands'

    Carey, from Peterborough, was jailed for three years and nine months for prison mutiny.

    Walker, from Nottingham, was sentenced to 18 months for violent disorder.

    Det Ch Insp Matt Ditcher said: “Thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused during the disorder and I hope that today’s sentencing will send a clear message that the police and the prison service will not tolerate crimes of this nature.”

  11. Men jailed after prison disorder

    Two men have been sentenced for their part in disorder at HMP Stocken in Rutland in June 2015.

    Police have said extensive damage was done to the prison when violence erupted - lights were smashed, CCTV equipment broken and fires made.

    Today 39-year-old Brendan Carey and 36-year-old Steven Antony Walker were jailed.

    He accepted an honorary degree from De Montfort University during the January graduation ceremonies.
