Analysis: 'Family and friends' to administer injections

Hannah Meredith

BBC East Midlands Today

Usually it's medical staff administering injections to patients but this change means it could be friends and family of any patient deemed well enough to go home - but needing extra care in order to do so.

It is of course not something many people know how to do and there are potentially serious consequences if something goes wrong.

NHS bosses have promised training will be delivered.

Public to be taught how to administer injections

The NHS in Leicestershire has announced it will show families how to administer injections so that patients can be discharged from hospital to recover at home.

Analysis: What next for Tigers after Williams departure?

Mike McCarthy

BBC Radio Leicester Sport

Owen Williams and Freddie Burns have been vying for the Tigers number ten shirt for the last three seasons, although for much of that time injury has kept one or the other on the sidelines.

Perhaps with James Hook departing Gloucester, Williams has seen the chance to make the 10 shirt at Kingsholm his own and boost his hopes of a Wales call-up.

Ironically, he'll now be battling Burns' younger brother Billy for that spot in the Cherry and Whites lineup.

Leicester meanwhile will be on the lookout for another high quality ten. They've been already been linked with England's George Ford this season.
