    Lows of 7C (45F) – cooler in rural spots though with the chance of a patchy frost.

  5. Person trapped in three-car crash

    I've got a bit more information on that crash on Parker Drive in Leicester...

    It involved three cars and one person was trapped inside.

    The fire service managed to free them and they've been taken to the LRI in an ambulance.

    She described it as "an accident waiting to happen".

    A woman was taken to hospital this morning after she was hit by a vehicle that failed to stop.

    A woman's been taken to hospital after a hit-and-run in Thurnby this morning.

    Leicestershire Police are trying to find the driver of the vehicle that failed to stop.

    It happened about 11.40 this morning on Grange Lane in the village - the road has been closed while investigations are carried out.

  12. 'Killer Clowns' craze in Loughborough

    So I've just heard from a man claiming to have taken this photo in Loughborough over the weekend...

    He says the person dressed as a clown was stood on Epnal Way and that he and his wife spotted it while walking the dog.

    His wife was quite scared and hid behind him. He told me: “I think it’s getting a bit ridiculous now”.

  13. House fire caused by Diva candle

    Leicestershire fire service are warning not to leave naked flames unattended after a house fire in Bushby caused by a Diva candle.

    They were called to the house on Bramley Orchard just before 08:00 this morning.

    The fire has caused damage to a bedroom and the smoke has severely damaged the whole of the first floor.

  16. Eighty officers to be recruited

    Leicestershire Police say they hope to recruit 120 officers over the next two years.

    They've already got 40 lined up - they're people who are currently working as PCSOs, specials or in staff jobs.

    The police have said they are particularly keen to increase the number of women officers and officers from black and minority ethnic communities.
