  5. Statue damage has been 'reported to the police'

    Here's what Leicester City Council has had to say about the damage to the Richard III statue.

    “We became aware of the damage to the Richard III statue last week," a spokesperson said. 

    “The joint at the hilt of the sword has been bent but we not yet sure of the full extent of the damage.

    “A detailed survey will be carried out later this week.

    “We are investigating CCTV in the area and the matter has now been reported to the police.”

  10. Extra staffing to man call centres during strike

    The NHS advice line 111 is to boost staffing at its East Midlands call centres during this week's two-day junior doctors strike.

    For the first time junior doctors will withdraw from emergency cover tomorrow, leaving consultants to make sure patients stay safe. 

    Call centres across the East MIdlands will be urging people to only use A and E where essential.

    Ben Youngs says the disappointment of failing to reach the European Champions Cup final could help Leicester Tigers in their quest for Premiership glory.

    "Hopefully we'll be in the Premiership semi-final and if we learn lessons from Sunday it will bode well," the England scrum-half said. 

  14. 'Dangerous' road causing 'road rage'

    Colin Riley, the landlord of the Coach and Horses Inn in Market Harborough, thinks it's only a matter of time before there is a serious accident on the A6. 

    "Judging by the amount of horns tooting and people getting road rage I'd say it's quite dangerous" he told BBC Radio Leicester.
