    Staying mostly dry with some clear spells into the evening and the first half of the night but the cloud will thicken up later and there will be some light rain heading in by the end of the night with lows of 4C (39F).


    A cloudy and damp start to tomorrow with some light rain. It will brighten up through the morning but there will be a few showers following on behind.

  3. Man admits Kayleigh Haywood murder

    Just to bring you up to date if you missed the breaking news earlier, 29-year-old Stephen Beadman has pleaded guilty to the rape and murder of 15-year-old Kayleigh Haywood.

    Luke Harlow, 27, pleaded guilty to one count of sexual grooming and two counts of sexual activity with Kayleigh.

    Both men denied one charge of false imprisonment of Kayleigh and will stand trial at Nottingham Crown Court on June 8.

    The inquest into Kayleigh's death found she died from head and facial injuries.

    Her aunt Tracey Haywood said she wanted to set up a charity to campaign for a law that banned under-16s from opening social media accounts.

    Hundreds of people lined the streets of Measham for Kayleigh's funeral in January.

    The service had a purple theme as it was the teenager's favourite colour.

  7. Community mourned Kayleigh together

    Kayleigh's murder had a big impact on the communities of Ibstock and Measham.

    Purple ribbons were put up around the villages in her memory and hundreds of people attended a special vigil at St Laurence Church.

  8. Kayleigh: Beadman and Harlow background

    Stephen Beadman and Luke Harlow, who both lived on George Avenue in Ibstock, were arrested the day before Kayleigh's body was found.

    Two days after the discovery, 28-year-old Stephen Beadman was charged with her rape and murder.

    Luke Harlow, 27, was charged with grooming her and two counts of sexual activity with a child.

    The men have now admitted those charges but have denied one charge of false imprisonment.

  10. Kayleigh murder: Five-day search for teen

    Kayleigh Haywood, who lived in Measham, went missing after being dropped her off at Ibstock Community College on 13 November.

    It sparked a huge police and community search before her body was found five days later near a lake in Ibstock.

    The 15-year-old had died from head and facial injuries.

  11. Kayleigh murder: Luke Harlow admits grooming and sexual activity

    Second defendant Luke Harlow has pleaded guilty to meeting Kayleigh Haywood following sexual grooming and two counts of sexual activity with a child.

    Both Harlow and Beadman deny false imprisonment and will face a trial in June at Nottingham Crown Court.

  15. Two arrested for Coalville attack

    A 51-year-old man has been attacked by three men on Whitwick Road in Coalville.

    The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday 19 March. The man had to go to hospital for treatment.

  17. Waste food served as meals

    The Real Junk Food Project in Leicester came to BBC Leicester this morning to demonstrate how food doesn't always need to be thrown away.

    They cooked up several meals with out-of-date food they claim was still perfectly good to eat.

    Bobby Hawkins, from the group, said: "Our mission is to abolish food waste from an environmental perspective.

    "All the food that we use is surplus/waste food that we've intercepted through various channels, supermarkets, wholesalers - all of it would otherwise go to waste."

  18. Councils meet to discuss food waste problem

    A summit is taking place in the East Midlands today to discuss ways of tackling food waste.

    Representatives from councils across Leicestershire will be there.

    Rebecca Watson from Burbage uses a green cone digester to get rid of all of her food waste.

    She says: "We can't just keep building rubbish dumps, we need to be more smart about how we get rid of our junk.

    "For me the green cone was a nice little way I could do it in a small way in my garden, but really as a nation we need to think about doing this on a much wider scale."
