  5. Shrewd business by the Foxes over agents' fees

    Andrew Aloia

    BBC Sport Online

High-flying Leicester City have proven to be smart when it comes to splashing their cash, ranking 14th in fees paid to agents.

The Foxes paid just more than £4m to agents in the 12-month period - including two transfer windows - up to 30 September.

    Leicester City logo

All the good business sees Leicester soaring in second spot in the Premier League and paying out more than £10m less in agent fees than Liverpool, who top the latest list and sit four spots adrift of the Foxes in the table.

  7. 'Shortest' yellow lines in Leicester cost £1 to repaint

    Calum McKenzie

    BBC Local Live

Leicester City Council have got in touch about the yellow lines on Chatham Street.

    £1 coin

"The yellow section of double-yellow line is there to differentiate between different bays – for example parking and loading bays, or (as in this case) a parking bay and disabled parking bay" a statement said.

"The work will have been carried out under our wider road-marking budget so the costs of that specific bit being renewed are probably around £1."

£1 for a drop of yellow paint, not bad if you ask me.

You might be wondering why some burials and funerals are the responsibility of local councils.

    Funerals

Well under the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984, Part III, Section 46, it states: "It shall be the duty of a local authority to cause to be buried or cremated the body of any person who has died or been found dead in their area".

This chapter of the act is available online. Bedtime reading with a difference...
