  1. Goodnight!

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

Thanks for joining us on the live text today.

Leeds are out of the play offs and now have three massive games ahead - all thanks to a poor first half that allowed Nouha Dicko to slot past Rob Green.

We'll be back on Saturday, when Leeds go to Burton looking to break their way back into the top six.

Until then, enjoy the rest of your week.

  2. Popey's reaction

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Adam Pope

    BBC West Yorkshire Sport

I think it sounds like it's going to be clever management from Monk - the stuff about being hunted was good, but he didn't shy away from what went wrong.

Everyone in the press was saying the same two words: poor performance. It's not over by many means, but I 100% expected Leeds to win. There is now absolutely loads on that Burton game at the weekend.

  3. What can Monk do now?

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

Choose a team that's capable of going out there and winning a football match. Which team is capable of going out there and winning the game for Leeds?

I don't think there was a lack of desire - a lack of quality, yeah. When the quality's not there, it's hard - you can end up trying harder and you overthink things.

Come the end of the season, what will happen if Leeds don't go up? This group of players have got Leeds to where they are now, which is probably a lot further up the table than a lot of people expected. Have faith in them.

  4. Could Vieira come back in?

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

Illness always takes a little bit out of you, but Vieira has a few days now to get back to fitness. I think I'd like to keep Roofe in there - it was an off-day for him. Players were rushing things and looking for wonderballs when they needed to keep things simple.

  5. What changes can Monk make?

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

We did see some great quality from Charlie Taylor down the left - he's getting to the bylines, is strong and aggressive. I think Monk will probably be wanting more balance down that left side. Taylor knows what to do in the box and how to hurt teams.

  6. What happens now?

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

Leeds didn't seem composed in that first 45 minutes. They seemed a little lost and couldn't get going - but good players have to adapt and take the pressure off, let Wolves come to the ball. It was probably the worst 45 minutes I've seen in a long time.

Monk hasn't shied away from that, and he can't. It was there for everyone to see. For the players, knowing they have to earn the right to be in the play offs, and are not safe there, brings some real pressures. It's going to be tough, but it's tough for all the other teams up there. It has to be a disciplined hunt, too.

  7. GARRY MONK: We can't let games pass us by

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Garry Monk

With any goal, you're disappointed. The first 45 minutes was one of our poorest of the season - and the second half was what we needed to start our game with. We need to take the game to the opposition and now it's crucial that we do that.

We can't allow any period of a game to pass us by. We had chances to score goals, a couple of opportunities and a penalty claim, but there's no excuses. The first 45 minutes cost us but it's happened. We know we still have the opportunity in front of us.

I'll have a good think about it and a good look at it tonight, and select the team that's going to force ourselves upon it. There's no excuses - there's nothing more to say than that. This group will be ready to give everything - and it starts on Saturday.

  8. GARRY MONK: Burton will be the game of our lives

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Garry Monk

I've worked with this group all season and they've gained a lot of experience and understanding. I'm 100% confident that they'll give three massive performances where they let it all go.

But we have no time to feel sorry for ourselves. We'll have a really good week this week. Burton will be the game of our lives and we'll have to leave it out on the pitch.

  9. GARRY MONK: We'll stick together

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Garry Monk

We picked possibly the worst time to have one of our worst 45 minutes of the season. Second half, we came out with the mentality that we should have started the game with. It'll be interesting now - having been in a position where we're protecting, we're now going out on the hunt. We have three massive games and we can't afford a period like that of the first 45 minutes again.

But I do know we'll stick together. We're fighting for our lives. It can be a dangerous situation for other teams now - maybe they'll change their mentality now they're protecting something.

You saw in the second half that we had the momentum with us. It's changing our mindset now to going on the hunt. We have more than enough to go into these massive games, these games of our lives, and these guys are more than capable enough to respond.

  10. What should Leeds change?

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

I'd definitely bring Vieira back. Maybe not with Phillips - how do you get the right blend of energy and tenacity, of quality? Burton will be hard-working and aggressive. They're organised under Nigel Clough and they'll take a point to keep them where they are.

  11. What about the others?

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

What if it turns out that Fulham and Sheffield Wednesday only need a draw come the final game of the season? Will they be happy with that? Will they go all out? They'll both settle for a point.

Leeds can't rely on others for results.

  12. How worried is Noel?

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

I'm worried enough to know Leeds need two wins from the last three. Other teams are coming into form and have momentum, and it kind of feels like Leeds are hovering. They're not kicking into gear - and when are they going to? I'm worried they'll leave it too late.

  13. How did Hernandez do?

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

Hernandez took a lot of touches but didn't really hurt anyone. Your number ten is your special player who makes things happen - you saw a lot of possession at Hernandez's feet, but no end product.

He was way back firing the ball forward at times - you want Phillips to do that role, and then Hernandez to be pulling the strings around the box.

You could have taken the whole midfield off at half time.

  14. Wolves' goal felt preventable

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

The goal - you had two midfield players acting as centre halves. That shouldn't happen. Wolves defended well but the goal that cost Leeds felt so preventable - Garry Monk will be tearing his hair out over it.

Leeds looked brighter in the second half and the subs had more energy about them. Taylor put some good balls into the box and Doukara looked bright and strong, driving past players. But Sacko missed a crucial chance when he was flatfooted.

  15. What did Wolves do well?

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

Rob Green shouldn't be the heart of the highlights package - but that's what happens when you give the ball away cheaply. Leeds couldn't cope with Wolves' pressure and pressing through midfield.

Maybe Leeds had a big claim for a penalty when Bartley went down - he's not the kind of player to kick up a fuss, and there was a handball that curiously wasn't given.

  16. What else went wrong?

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Katherine Hannah

    BBC West Yorkshire Sport

It just didn't work today, but I think there were too many people off-colour. Wolves looked really up for it and they closed down quickly, forcing lots of mistakes from Leeds. Wolves were dictating the play.

  17. What went wrong?

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

Passing was really rushed - sloppiness, trying to force passes through, bad decision-making, nobody winning second balls. Leeds did not look as aggressive as they have done.

You can go through the whole Leeds midfield and find players below par. I don't see the point in having Bridcutt level with the two centre halves - why does he have to drop that deep?

  18. How bad is the damage?

    Leeds 0-1 Wolves

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

I think the worrying thing is the psychological damage. Leeds have to start doing things a lot better. They didn't get going, at all, in that first 45 minutes and gave away so many easy passes. The intensity rose in the second half but did they test the Wolves keeper?

Wolves sat in banks and invited Leeds to break them down - but they couldn't.
