    So much so that she's already got a Twitter account with thousands of followers.

    The book is actually written by Kate Moore but I'm assured that Felix has proof-read what is described as the true tale of a close-knit community and it's incredible bond with a very special cat. 

  6. Broken down van cause of delays in Leeds this morning

    Stuck in queues getting into Leeds this morning?

    This broken-down van on Marsh Lane is thought to have been the main cause.

    The stricken vehicle meant that some were facing delays of up to 40 minutes coming into the city from the motorways. 

  7. Queensbury man missing for more than a month

    A man from Queensbury has been missing for more than a month, today police have released CCTV images of his last known movements.

    Craig Alderson, 44, was last seen on Friday 20 January and has not been in touch with any friends or family. 

    The CCTV images are from Chapel Street and show Craig holding a laser measuring device in his hand.

  8. Long waits at Leeds railway station

    The trains have been thrown into chaos today because of storm Doris, leaving thousands of travellers in Leeds stranded on platforms tonight.

  9. Cancer recovery group needs volunteers

    A service in Sheffield which helps women and teenagers recovering from cancer is at risk due to a shortage of volunteers.

  10. Dance yourself dizzy

    This morning I was up in Bedale to meet dance teacher, Alan Beattie.

    Nothing unusual in that you may think until you realise that Alan's in his 80s and is more sprightly than a Twentysomething like me!!

    In a few weeks he'll be performing solo at the UK's biggest dance event - Move It , so I went along to see if he could give me any tips to make me more of a twinkle-toed hipshaker and less of a clodhopping lump!:

  11. Knife point robbery on mother as children played downstairs

    Two men have broken into a Leeds house and threatened a woman as her children played downstairs.

    It happened in Oakwood yesterday morning when the men came into the house on Hollin Hill Avenue through a window. 

    They told two children who were playing downstairs to be quiet and then went upstairs where they held a knife to their mother's throat and forced her to open a safe.

    The men left with some high-value Asian gold jewellery and were caught on camera (above).

  12. Storm Doris: Car v tree - Car loses

    The effects of storm Doris have been felt in Halifax this lunchtime.

    This is the result of car v tree outside the Bankfield Museum.

    Luckily no one was hurt, but I should imagine there might be a small claim on someone's insurance.

  13. Storm Doris: Campaigners deny preventing council from dealing with fallen tree

    Tree campaigners in Sheffield are disputing claims by the city council that they stopped workers from dealing with a tree brought down by Storm Doris.

    Sheffield City Council has called for protests over their tree-felling scheme the be called off during the bad weather after they went to deal with a large conifer on Rivelin Valley Road which had snapped and fallen across a path.

    The council says workers were prevented from dealing with the situation by a small number of protesters.

    But Sheffield Tree Action Groups say campaigners were merely checking the clear-up work was "a legitimate activity."

  14. Storm Doris: Delays at Doncaster Sheffield airport

    Passengers are being reminded to check the status of their flights before they travel to Doncaster Sheffield airport this afternoon, amid ongoing disruption due to high winds.

  15. Police make fourth arrest after fatal shooting in Sheffield

    A 57 year old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders, in connection with the death of Aseel Al-Essaie.

    The 23 year old died after being shot in the chest in Walkeley, Sheffield on Saturday.   

    Earlier today, a 22 year old man was arrested on suspicion of murder while a 16 year old boy was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

    Both remain in police custody. 

    A 30 year old man, also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, has since been released on police bail.
