Goodnight!

Rotherham 1-2 Leeds

Thanks for joining us on the live text blog tonight. That was nervy stuff at the end but Leeds had ultimately done enough in the first half to see them over the line, despite Rotherham biting back.

We'll be back on Tuesday for the small matter of Liverpool away in the League Cup quarter-finals - in the meantime, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

GARRY MONK: Lapse in concentration was unacceptable

Rotherham 1-2 Leeds

Garry Monk
PA

Overall, we deserved three points and no one can take that away from us. We were aggressive with and without the ball for the first 24 minutes and it was all going our way.

I spoke to the players at half time and said a lapse of concentration was their only way back in, and that's what happened. I've told my players that wasn't good enough - we're not good enough as a team to take our foot off the gas, and the players themselves said that was unacceptable. That's a lesson we've learned from today.

Which matters most? Liverpool or Villa?

Rotherham 1-2 Leeds

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

Our bench is stronger than it's ever been. Monk has got them this far with the decisions he's made - let's go with him, but I'd like him to go out and try to win both games, Liverpool and Aston Villa.

We're a little bit grumpy because of how we saw out the second half, but we're fifth - look forward to Liverpool now.

Selection dilemmas?

Rotherham 1-2 Leeds

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

Cooper was very solid, very professional, but I don't think it's given Garry Monk a selection dilemma for Tuesday. I don't know what he'll do on Tuesday, because there's a big game at Aston Villa on Saturday.

Roofe was busy, controlled, got himself into good areas and was always looking for the ball. He was one of the better players out there today.

I've seen Sacko have better games, but he always has that element of danger as someone who can create something out of nothing.

Leeds lost concentration

Rotherham 1-2 Leeds

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

We started going backwards, sideways, back to Green, overcooking passes, not sending it to people's feet - you have to hurt teams at 2-0, because the game is still alive. The concentration went. At 3-0, then you can start doing your oles.

We stopped trying to hurt them after a while and that was frustrating. We were fine for the first half but people seemed to think the game was over. You need to kill them and take away their desire for the game.

Leeds let them back in

Rotherham 1-2 Leeds

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

We gave them the chance to get back into the game, to work it further up the pitch - it wasn't Rotherham doing well.

I hate 2-0 as a scoreline - it looks great, but they're always in with that chance. Someone has to tell them to get the ball forward and hurt them. Roofe always wanted to hurt them, and we kind of lost that when Antonsson came on.

It can be hard to play against ten men, but use the space and you make that count.

'Rotherham made Leeds look good'

Guy Branston, ex-Rotherham centre half

That wasn't an unbelievable Leeds side - it was a Leeds side being quite adventurous, breaking down occasionally. It wasn't the best Leeds side we've ever seen. O'Kane had an off day but they made him look good. Even Roofe - he was clapped off, but what has he actually done? Rotherham made them look good.

Rotherham lacked a game plan

Guy Branston, ex-Rotherham centre half

Rotherham, for me, didn't have a gameplan, didn't understand what they were doing in threes and fours. Leeds are worthy of their position and their play off challenge is real. I've seen Rotherham twice in a week now and nothing's improved. I've seen nothing inviting me to come back and unless they make massive, dramatic steps... It's tough.

Rotherham need to stick their hands in their pockets and find players of talent and application. Agents will be able to demand lots from Rotherham because it's a big ask to ask them to come here into this relegation battle.

BreakingFULL TIME: ROTHERHAM 1-2 LEEDS

Stay with us for all the post-match reaction from both sides.

Rotherham 1-2 Leeds

The ball breaks for Ward but Ayling clears to save Leeds' bacon. Maddening stuff here - Vaulks takes the throw high into the Leeds penalty area and Isaiah Brown wriggles free inside the area, but Leeds hang on as they belt the ball high.

This football club will be the death of me. They never do it the easy way.

Rotherham 1-2 Leeds

Forde beats the jockeying Berardi to get the ball into the Leeds box and Leeds belt it clear. Chris Wood takes it round Fisher and runs down the clock in the corner. He keeps it in play, tries to find Antonsson but the ball races all the way down to Taylor.

BreakingLEEDS SUB: BERARDI ON, SACKO OFF

BreakingYELLOW: Rob Green

Rob Green goes into the book for belting the ball into the stand. Four added minutes here.

Rotherham 1-2 Leeds

Squeaky bum time. Rotherham up the ante and blaze over from two yards out. The ball was ping-ponging around in the penalty area for what felt like an age after a corner, and it looked like an equaliser.

Rotherham 1-2 Leeds

Leeds break immediately and Phillips gets the shot away, but it's blocked.

BreakingGOAL: ROTHERHAM 1-2 LEEDS - WOOD

Mad scramble from Leeds as Ayling blocks from a Vaulks shot and Rotherham win a corner. The corner pings about a little, Wood gets a header and it careers off Rob Green's arm and in.

Richard Wood
PA

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

Guy Branston, ex-Rotherham man

Brown puts it into the edge of the penalty area and Phillips wins it, yet Brown stays where he is. He should be running to get the ball back, running into easier positions. Defensively, too, we've not been a patch on Leeds.

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

O'Kane tries to turn Rotherham inside out and wins a throw level with the edge of the penalty area. Sacko receives it, but it trickles just short of O'Kane - do Leeds need to be a little more intense again here, or is the job done?

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

Are we getting complacent here? We seem to be dwelling on the ball a bit too much here, being a bit ponderous. One more goal and they'll be back in.

BreakingROTHERHAM SUB: NEWELL OFF, FORDE ON

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

Guy Branston, ex-Rotherham centre half

Adeyemi pings it into the near post but Bartley pings it away. Bartley is probably the best centre half I've seen in the Championship this season.

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

Roofe deserves every bit of applause he gets tonight.

BreakingLEEDS SUB: ROOFE OFF, ANTONSSON ON

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

Leeds break quickly and Dallas switches play for O'Kane to meet. O'Kane tries to send Kemar Roofe away but it goes beyond him and trickles out of play. Dallas had an easier ball down the right in Ayling but he didn't want to play it safe, and, commendably, looked to hurt Rotherham.

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

Guy Branston, ex-Rotherham centre half

I'd just like to see a bit more blood and thunder from Rotherham. They're letting the strikers in again and again.

Roofe is a top, top player in League One, but he lacks that final ball. That's not good enough for a team in the Championship like Leeds.

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

Roofe is onside and has an onrushing Dallas before him, but he takes the shot and it looks to be the wrong decision. Leeds invited Rotherham into a press there - clever stuff.

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

BreakingLEEDS SUB: DALLAS ON, DOUKARA OFF

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

Great defending from Bartley there - pace and calmness to close down and do the work, then he spins to pick out O'Kane. And O'Kane was the man who lost possession, but he's making himself available straight away.

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

Will Vaulks careers into Sacko and it looks like Sacko's landed on the Rotherham man's ankle in the tackle. It's a bit reckless, even if it wins a throw, and both are limping here...

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

Taylor squares for Wood after sucking the Rotherham men in. Adeyemi clears it for a corner after Taylor unpicked them and worked the space. Bartley gets the header away but Price takes it well to send the Millers forward.

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

Sacko brings it down inside the area but his touch is a little heavy and the ball's running away for Price to smother. Moments later, Chris Wood despatches Roofe but he's brought down in the area - Guy Branston believes it's a penalty, as do the BBC Leeds commentary team.

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

Isaiah Brown whips a free kick in from 35 yards and it loops dangerously, but Cooper clears. Rotherham in the ascendency now as Wood and Cooper both must clear as the ball bounces off Fisher for a Leeds throw.

BreakingYELLOW CARD - EUNAN O'KANE

Brown tries to send Adeyemi away but O'Kane clips him and goes into the book.

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

Phillips feeds Wood to hold up on the edge of the penalty area. He switches to Phillips, who fires the shot just over. Doukara was waiting and Phillips was a little too hasty in his decision making there.

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

Cooper hasn't done much wrong, but Jansson's so immense. Cooper, today, has shown he can come straight back in. But what it is, is you have centre halves who won't make the mistakes that Sol Bamba and Giuseppe Bellusci did. That sets the tone.

Rotherham 0-2 Leeds

Rotherham float a high ball in and it somehow careers off several Leeds bodies for a corner, then the same happens again for a second. It floats beyond everybody and trickles out innocuously for a Leeds throw from the left side.
