Goodnight!

Thanks for joining us on the live blog tonight - what a mad game, and what a show of heart and resilience from Leeds United.

We'll be back this weekend as Leeds United welcome Burton Albion - we hope you can join us then!

GARRY MONK: 'I don't care who we get in the next round'

"We'll find out about Lewie Coyle tomorrow but he's a tough lad.

"I don't care who we get in the next round, but imagine a full crowd here, against a Premier League team... The players can enjoy tonight but we have to get it right for the league now.

"We're six undefeated at home and we need to make sure the mentality is right. We can't afford to put in a 45 at the weekend like the first 45 tonight.

"Pablo Hernandez could have been involved tonight but we didn't want to take risks."

GARRY MONK: 'They're all heroes tonight'

"I didn't watch the penalties - I never did as a player. But Marco's been working hard on them. The boys practice penalties every week. You need to speak to them after the extra time and you pick the most confident five.

"You can be a hero or zero when you take the last penalty but you have to trust the players in everything you do. That's why I made the changes I did.

"I can't single one player out. They're all heroes. My job is to be happy for everyone else - if they're happy, I'm doing something right.

It's like we're talking about winning an Oscar but this is what football gives you - some of the best feelings ever."

GARRY MONK: 'That was a real ding-dong'

"I'm so proud. The first half wasn't good enough and I spoke to them very honestly and openly at half time, and said that I wanted to see us

"We came out and I'm incredibly proud of them - not just of the football, but of the character. For our young players to go out and fight like that - I've said to them that these are some of the best nights you can have as a player, especially when the fans are right with you.

"I said to the players, 'It doesn't matter what the result is. You go out there and give everything and you can be proud of that.' That's what you want from your team."

'Doukara showed me he wants to be at Leeds'

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

Everyone's following suit. Everyone's being aggressive. Everyone's working hard. Everyone's winning challenges. Everyone's getting so on board with what Garry Monk wants to do.

Doukara - no one could get round him. He was bringing players into play, was a handful all night and has shown us he's worthy of being here.

Kyle Bartley dominates centre forwards but it's about the way he starts attacks off.

'This is what it means to support Leeds United'

Katherine Hannah

BBC West Yorkshire Sport

You show that heart and passion week in, week out and Leeds will go places. Monk keeps saying he wants his young players to show that passion and personality. This is what it means to support Leeds United.

If you're picking a Man of the Match, I think you can look at Doukara. He personified what the team were about tonight.

Were the substitutions risky?

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

With hindsight? You want to finish it in 90 and you can't forsee an injury like that. And ten men were as good as eleven tonight. It comes down to character and a bit of luck but Silvestri's saves were of such good quality.

'I apologise for not giving these players enough credit'

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

I was worried about the changes - we'd not seen much of Doukara, of Roofe, of Grimes. Then Norwich make their changes and they're still fielding international players. It was a big challenge.

I apologise for not giving these players enough credit because they've gone out and shown they want to wear that shirt tonight.

Leeds got through the storm and Garry Monk obviously said to them that they were showing Norwich too much respect. They started that second half so quickly and dominated it through to the end.

Penalty analysis from Noel

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

The coaching staff were putting numbers up on their fingers - whether that symbolises a side and they've done their homework to know which way players will go, I don't know, but it was still incredible from Silvestri.

I had full confidence in Vieira to put that last penalty away - he looked fine. You could tell in the way he walked up, and the way he plays the game constantly. It was like he was having a laugh, taking a penalty in the playground.

'We played some great stuff'

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

Garry Monk probably told the players to play a little further forward and take risks. Sacko's wasted opportunities like that before, but it's a tap in for Chris Wood - he's into those good habits of following up shots, and that's what you need.

We rattled them in challenges, had chances ourselves to take the lead - you thought the Mowatt chance would define the game, then Mowatt comes off, then they get the second goal... But you don't cry about it. We got through that by the pure willingness to not lose.

'An incredible evening at Elland Road'

Katherine Hannah

BBC West Yorkshire Sport

That's what the drug that is supporting Leeds United is all about - Leeds are into the last eight! They put us through the ringer and the team selection raised eyebrows, but they showed the ultimate heart and passion to see this through even when it felt the momentum had slipped away. Getting that equaliser in extra time was so key.

'That's as good as it gets'

Adam Pope

BBC West Yorkshire Sport

We're hardened to it a little over the years with the number of games we've watched, but that... You'll never forget that. That's as good as it gets. Wow.

All about confidence for Noel

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

I have so much confidence in Silvestri when it comes to knowing which way to go. Psychologically, he knew exactly what Pritchard was going to do when he went central - he won that battle.

To come back into the game and then for it to come down to the last penalty... You couldn't write this.

And for an 18 year old boy to have the pressure of taking the winning penalty in front of the Kop end - what maturity. It takes a strong personality to deal with that kind of pressure and he must have such confidence in his own ability.

'The fans are flooding onto the pitch'

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

The fans are flooding onto the pitch - it's so loud. It's like we've won the cup.

That's one game I will never forget. It just had everything. The fans are enjoying this and the players deserve that. For everything they put into that game - this is what nights like Elland Road are all about.

Noel on Silvestri

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

Character, heart, determination, grit - this is everything we want to see in a white shirt. Is this the time for Silvestri to show us what he's all about? He has to be the best keeper to deal with penalties.

Ex-Leeds United striker

When in doubt, put your foot through it. Don't change your mind halfway through. Go low and hard.
