  4. BreakingMurder investigation launched after bodies found in Allerton Bywater

A murder investigation's been launched following the discovery of the bodies of a woman and two children at a house in Allerton Bywater this morning, police have confirmed.

Officers were called to the address in Beeston Way at about 11:50 after concerns were raised about the occupants. The body of a woman was found downstairs and the bodies of two children were found upstairs.

The victims have died "in suspicious circumstances" and police say they're therefore treating the deaths as murder. A post-mortem examination is yet to be carried out to establish the cause of death.

Det Ch Insp Warren Stevenson says: "Initial indications are that this is a domestic-related incident."

  5. Woman and two children found dead in Allerton Bywater

The BBC understands that the three bodies found at a property in Allerton Bywater earlier today are that of a woman and two children.

West Yorkshire Police say a crime scene has been established on Beeston Way and inquiries are ongoing to discover the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

  6. Historic England: 'Urgent need' to save West Yorkshire's mills

A fire which destroyed a Bradford mill has "underlined the urgency" of working to preserve West Yorkshire's mills, Historic England has said.

    Bradford Mill

The Grade II-listed Drummond Mill on Lumb Lane in Manningham was ravaged by a fire which started in the basement on Thursday.

The building has now been partially demolished to prevent further collapse. Historic England said West Yorkshire's mills are "important landmarks which need to be cherished".

  9. MPs' impassioned plea for Huddersfield A&E during emergency debate

    Larry Budd

    Political reporter, BBC Radio Leeds

In an at times heated discussion at Westminster this afternoon, MPs from both main parties in West Yorkshire have made an impassioned plea to secure a future for the A&E department at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

    Huddersfield A&E

Time and time again, the issue of a "ruinous" and "crippling" debt arising from Calderdale's PFI deal in the 1990s was brought up. Colne Valley Conservative MP Jason McCartney said the "dodgy" finance deal could end up costing lives.

But despite a well-organised and sizeable local campaign to save Huddersfield's A&E, Health Minister Ben Gummer said these were decisions for the Clinical Commissioning Groups of Huddersfield and Calderdale.

    HRI protests

That will allay no fears for campaigners, but Mr Gummer promised a meeting with Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt will be forthcoming, and also denied money was the prime motivator for local decision-makers.

  10. Bradford MP's 'dismay' at loss of National Media Museum archive to London

A Bradford MP has said she's "shocked" and "dismayed" at news a 400,000-strong photography archive is to be moved from the city's National Media Museum to London.

The Science Museum Group has announced it's to transfer the collection to the Victoria and Albert Museum.
