  1. Good eveving

    Leeds 1-0 Bristol

A win is a win, as they say, but Leeds didn't make it easy for themselves.

Soulemayne Doukara scored his third goal in four games, but Leeds were down on energy and creativity for at least 45 minutes.

You can listen to our post-match interview with Steve Evans here, as his side are now 11 points off the play-offs and 11 points clear of the drop zone.

We'll be back on Tuesday for the clash away at Brentford - thank you for joining us, and have a very good evening.

  2. More from Evans

    Leeds 1-0 Bristol

"Chris Wood could have been sold five times in this window," Steve Evans told BBC Radio Leeds. "We missed him for the last five or six games and I was worried that I would put him under testing conditions and he would injure himself.

"He came in and hugged me and said he felt good, that's a great sign for all of us. He wanted to start but I thought it was a fraction too early.

"I think for the last 25 minutes, Lewis Cook was outstanding. It was important that we won at Elland Road. Good teams don't normally lose three games in a row - you might lose two, but not three.

"I said at half time, if we score, we're not losing the game. We have a clean sheet - let's get used to delivering clean sheets at Elland Road."

  4. Reaction from Steve Evans

    Leeds 1-0 Bristol

    steve evans

Steve Evans has been talking to BBC Radio Leeds about today's game.

"It wasn't very nice, what I said at half-time, but you have to tell them. The first half was like 45 minutes waiting at the dentist!

"I'm pleased for big Solly because he takes a lot of stick. He worked hard in the first half and now he's got the goal in a win.

"It was flat all round this week, maybe with Sam going. There is a lot to be pleased about though. They are looking to the coach to lead them. I was heavily critical of the first half, then I told them about what it means to grind out a 1-0 win."

  6. More from Noel

    Leeds 1-0 Bristol

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

We start slow and when you’re playing in third gear, you’re a beatable side.

It was probably one of the most unconvincing performances I've seen this season yet we've come away with a win and a clean sheet.

There’s so much there that needs to be approved because against a better side, it would have been a different result today.

The first half was like they’d played three games in three days – there was no energy, no creativity and the body language was all wrong.

  8. Noel on today's game

    Leeds 1-0 Bristol

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

It is three points on the board and it is what we wanted from today's game. It’s three points from a very average performance.

It wasn’t pretty on the eye, but if you don’t play 100% and still manage to get a win, you’ve done your job.

When Chris Wood came on he was excellent and he was a bit of a game changer for United. He was part of the goal and just his presence in the box made it a different kind of game for Bristol.

It wasn't easy or pretty but Leeds have managed to register their first league victory for six games.

It was a long old slog for the fans, with Leeds not really waking up until after Soulemayne Doukara had bundled the ball past Richard O'Donnell.

  10. Leeds 1-0 Bristol

The ball falls nicely for Lewis Cook, who drives forward and cuts through to Tom Adeyemi, but Adeyemi loses it.

Leeds win it back, but Aden Flint manages to hack it away.

  11. Leeds 1-0 Bristol

Leeds make their final change, as Luke Murphy makes way for Tom Adeyemi. We've got four minutes of added time ahead.

  12. Leeds 1-0 Bristol

That's a yellow for Mirco Antenucci after a bit of posturing with Luke Ayling.

  13. Leeds 1-0 Bristol

Ooh, that was close - Joe Bryan sends a cross in to Marco Silvestri, who drops it, and has to react quickly as Wes Burns comes darting forward.

  14. Leeds 1-0 Bristol

Mirco Antenucci hooks the ball in almost from his first touch, searching for Chris Wood, but it bounces easily for the keeper.

  15. Leeds 1-0 Bristol

Goalscorer Soulemayne Doukara is making his way off the pitch, replaced by Mirco Antenucci.

  16. Leeds 1-0 Bristol

Bristol break from the Leeds corner and Aaron Wilbraham tees up Aden Flint, who shoots low but straight at Marco Silvestri.

  17. Leeds 1-0 Bristol

Luke Murphy comes driving forward and slides through to Stuart Dallas, but there's too much on it and it rolls out of play. Dallas then manages to win Leeds a corner.

  18. Leeds 1-0 Bristol

Bristol City win a corner and it comes swinging in to Aden Flint, who misses a free header for Bristol. Leeds need to make sure they don't switch off.

  19. Leeds 1-0 Bristol

Liam Cooper is receiving some treatment after taking a bit of a knock. He should be fine to continue, though.
