  1. Good afternoon

    Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Leeds

    leeds

Back-to-back defeats for Leeds United then, with Sam Byram almost certainly on his way out and plenty of defensive problems for Steve Evans to deal with.

Chris Wood will hopefully be back for Leeds next weekend, but all the talk tonight will be about that disallowed goal.

You can listen to our post-match interview with Steve Evans here.

We'll be back on Saturday for United's home tie with Bristol City. Thank you very much for joining us and enjoy the rest of your day - and stay warm!

  2. More from Evans

    Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Leeds

"We missed four or five chances in the first half and then we make two mistakes," Steve Evans told Adam Pope.

"We ground our way back into the game and we were dominant. Some of the quality was exceptional. I think the performance, in large spells, was as good as it has been in a little while.

"Some of the passages of play were things we've been working on for a while. For ten minutes the only thing that was missing was someone in the box to put it in the net."

  3. Steve Evans reaction

    Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Leeds

    steve evans

"It's quite clear what happened with the disallowed goal - the boy for Wednesday was taking forever to come off," Steve Evans told Adam Pope.

"The referee shouts to my players to take the corner and they score. I've never seen anything like it. Let the football authorities come and charge me tomorrow - there is an agenda.

"I've never seen it where a referee allows open play and then disallows the goal. I thought we deserved to win, never mind lose 2-0, but we didn't get the chance to be dominant. It's a horrendous decision from a Premier League referee.

"The referee clearly whistles and clearly shouts to play and gives the goal. I nipped away for a wee, I came back and the goal's dropped off. It can only happen at Leeds."

  4. As it stands

    Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Leeds

The rest of the Championship games will be getting underway shortly, but as it stands, Leeds will remain in 15th.

There's still 12 points between them and the last play-off position but crucially there's only 11 between Leeds and the bottom three.

  6. Noel on the disallowed goal

The substitution is incomplete. Forestieri was taking forever in getting off the field, so maybe the referee thought he had gone off and gave the go-ahead.

As far as I'm concerned, you've been given the go ahead from the referee and you've got 11 players from both sides on the pitch, it's a goal.

I don’t know how Leeds are going to put back-to-back wins together now. Draws will not get you promotion.

  8. Popey on today's performance

    Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Leeds

    Adam Pope

    BBC West Yorkshire Sport

Prior to that disallowed goal I thought the momentum was going Leeds way and I thought there was a chance they might get in.

As soon as that happened, it killed it.

Did they deserve to get back into it? On that first half display, they should have been ahead. They didn't deserve to be chasing the game.

  10. Noel on today's performance

    Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Leeds

It shows how important is is when you are on top of a game to take your chances.

They didn’t in the first half then in the second half they didn’t do the basics well - they weren’t closing people down and they didn’t defend properly

We dominated in spells in the first half but once again, we have to be ruthless in front of goal. We had bodies in there but it is so important to take those opportunities. It could have been a different story

  12. FULL TIME: Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Leeds

    leeds

That disallowed goal will be the talking point, but that's a second successive defeat for Leeds United.

Very little went right after the break - isn't that always the case for Leeds at Hillsborough? - and two quick goals from Gary Hooper put Leeds on the back foot.

That's their play-off hopes all but ended, and Leeds will be left to rue those awful defensive mistakes. Same old, same old...

  13. Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Leeds

Stuart Dallas has another go at a goal as he picks up Alex Mowatt's cross, but there's no power behind it and Lewis Price collects with ease.

  14. Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Leeds

Four minutes of added time ahead for everyone to enjoy...

  15. Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Leeds

Mirco Antenucci curls the ball towards the right hand post, but it's wide and rolls out of play.

  16. Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Leeds

It has been better from Leeds since that disallowed goal but really, that's all any Leeds fans will be talking about for the rest of the day.

Any amateur referees out there got an opinion on whether it was a goal or not?

  17. Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Leeds

Wednesday make their final change, as Gary Hooper makes way for Jose Semedo. He gets a warm round of applause from the Hillsborough crowd.

  18. Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Leeds

Gary Hooper attempts a hat-trick from the halfway line but Lucas Joao gets in the way and it's out for a goal kick. Leeds are pressing but it could be too little, too late.

  19. Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Leeds

Another change for Wednesday as Ross Wallace is replaced by Jeremy Helan. Everyone is still focused on the disallowed goal and what on earth was going on.
