  1. Good evening

    Leeds 1-1 Derby

    Leeds

Six matches unbeaten now for Leeds United, and they finally look to be playing with plenty of confidence.

It'll be an interesting New Year for Steve Evans and his club, with the Sky drama rolling on in the background and the transfer window opening very soon.

You can listen to our post-match interview with Steve Evans here on our audio page.

We'll be back for even more football on Saturday for the clash with MK Dons. Thank you very much for joining us, and Happy New Year!

  3. More from Evans

    Leeds 2-2 Derby

    Steve Evans
Quote Message: I don't blame the broadcasters (for the pre-game issues) because who else would you put on TV if not Leeds United - Leeds United reserves? I focus on the field. I thought the second goal we scored tonight was absolutely wonderful. It was a fantastic cross for Sam Byram and I've never been as pleased in my life for somebody as as I was for Chris Wood. I think we're unlucky not to win it and perhaps they could stay the same, but over the 90 minutes, we are the ones who feel the most unlucky. The Leeds United supporters knew we would need some help in that last hour and, like the dressing room when I came in, they were disappointed. But being disappointed about drawing with Derby shows how far we've come in two months. from Steve Evans Leeds United head coach, speaking to BBC Radio Leeds

  5. Steve Evans on tonight's result

    Leeds 2-2 Derby

    Steve Evans
Quote Message: I'm immensely proud of the players. We all know of the issue off the field but I'm talking on a sporting basis. To ask us to play one of the best two teams in the league, 48 hours after we'd played, it was tough. We displayed every bit of mental will power. We played in spells and we had to dig in. It seemed Derby were bringing on one top star after another but this group has given us everything and I am very proud of them. from Steve Evans Leeds United head coach, speaking to BBC Radio Leeds

    Leeds 2-2 Derby

  7. Championship roundup

    Leeds 2-2 Derby

The other three Championship games haven't quite gone Leeds United's way tonight:

    Brighton 0-1 Ipswich

    Cardiff 1-1 Nottingham Forest

    Fulham 4-1 Rotherham

Leeds move up to 12th after tonight's draw but with Ipswich winning, that means there's now nine points between Leeds and the play-offs.

  8. Thoughts from the press box

  9. More from Noel

    Leeds 2-2 Derby

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

There was no scared football out there - both teams believed they could win.

You saw that in the second half. No-one was holding out for a point, both sides believed they could win.

That one lapse in concentration – that is what happens when you play against a quality team.

We defended with character, we threw our bodies on the line and that's what you need to win games.

  11. Noel on tonight's performance

    Leeds 2-2 Derby

    Noel Whelan

    Ex-Leeds United striker

They were aggressive with their defending; they’ve been fantastic and very unlucky.

It was that lapse of concentration that costs both goals and tom ince scythed through the centre halves

A draw, you would take, but this draw has to turn into a win against MK Dons.

  12. FULL TIME: LEEDS 2-2 DERBY

    Leeds

Leeds have made it through December unbeaten!

There's plenty to work on but there's also enough to keep the Leeds fans feeling positive for a little longer.

  13. Leeds 2-2 Derby

There's a Derby corner with a minute to go - a brilliant piece of keeping from Marco Silvestri though, who comes out of his box and collects the ball, calms a few nerves.

  14. Leeds 2-2 Derby

Some really good footwork from Leeds but there's not enough men in the box for Kalvin Phillips to tee up.

We'll have three minutes extra time at Elland Road - deep breaths, everyone...

  15. Leeds 2-2 Derby

Leeds come so close to a third as Lewis Cook slams the ball over the bar; he's got his body position wrong and can't angle it back down towards the goal.

Leeds do make a change, however, as Sam Byram is replaced by Kalvin Phillips.

  16. Leeds 2-2 Derby

Luke Murphy bends it into the near post as he spies a gap in the Derby defence, but Lee Grant parries it away.

  17. Leeds 2-2 Derby

It's all go as Leeds win yet another free-kick. The previous one from Luke Murphy found Liam Cooper's head but it fell behind. This one is a good position for Murphy...

  18. Leeds 2-2 Derby

Derby win a corner but Leeds somehow manage to win it back. Lewis Cook works his way through to the penalty area but he's brought down and Leeds have a free-kick.

  19. Leeds 2-2 Derby

Derby are right in Leeds' face as Liam Cooper thrusts some body part in the way of Jeff Hendrick's shot to tip it over the net.

  20. Leeds 2-2 Derby

Both sides are properly up for this, as Leeds win a throw on the halfway line. Steve Evans has his thinking cap on on the sidelines - will he make another change?
