    This evening will be dry and clear at first. Clouding over later with rain for a time.

    The minimum temperature tonight will be about 6C (43F).

    Tomorrow will be rather cloudy and windy, with rain spreading from the west later, although most parts should get off to a dry and bright start.

    Following her Sports Personality of the Year Award nomination, Otley's world cycling champion Lizzie Armitstead is setting her sights on another successful year in 2016.

    Armitstead finished tenth in last night's voting with 22,356 votes.

    With the Rio Olympics just months away, Lizzie's told BBC West Yorkshire Sport she's hoping to go one better than the silver medal she won in London in 2012.

  5. Leeds United: Steve Evans praises 'gritty performance'

    Leeds United head coach Steve Evans has praised a gritty, rather than a pretty, performance as they beat 10-man Preston 1-0 at Elland Road yesterday.

    Evans says he feels it was important the team dug out a result which leaves them five points off the play-offs.

  8. Caught on camera: Samurai sword robber who targeted Leeds bookies

    CCTV images have been released by police appealing for information after a man brandished a samurai sword in an attempted robbery in Leeds.

    The man targeted the William Hill bookmakers in Lower Wortley at about 10:35 on Saturday 19 December.

    The suspect's described as white, aged in his mid- to late twenties and thin. He was wearing a burgundy Nike hoodie which was spattered with white paint and had his face masked with white material which had the appearance of a surgical mask.

    Anyone with information is asked to contact West Yorkshire Police.

    Tributes are being paid to Leeds Rhinos legend Kevin Sinfield, after his performance in last night's BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards.

    Sinfield was runner-up to Andy Murray, well ahead of third-placed heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis-Hill. 

    The chief executive of Leeds Rhinos, Gary Hetherington, says Sinfield's success is great for the game.

  10. Watch: 'Shock tactics' used in Bradford to smash myths about life of crime

    A Bradford project which sees ex-offenders persuading kids to keep away from crime is proving a success.

    The Bradford Centre of Excellence, based at Girlington Community Centre, has seen more than 1,000 young people come through its doors in just six months.

    Former convicts re-enact real-life scenarios to teach the truth about life in prison. 

    The BBC Leeds #MyBradford project has made a video with the team about their work. It features Naz, who's turned his life round after time in jail.

  12. Travel update: One lane closed on Kirkstall Road in Leeds

    One lane is closed and traffic is building on the A65 Kirkstall Road outbound in Leeds, at the Studio Road junction, because of an accident involving four vehicles.

    Congestion is now backing up to the A58 junction.

    BBC Radio Leeds has travel and traffic updates throughout the afternoon.

  15. Huddersfield Town: Wagner to make changes for next game

    Huddersfield Town head coach David Wagner admits he will make changes for the club's next game.

    Town will play Preston at home on Boxing Day and Wagner says he hopes to move on from this weekend's 2-4 defeat at Brentford.

    Wagner believes his selection in midfield and up front wasn't right, and will now consider starting Nahki Wells and Kyle Dempsey after their impressive second-half performances off the bench at Griffin Park.
