    A blind Liverpool supported whose goal celebration has gone viral told BBC Sport: "I celebrate like every football fan!"

    Mike Kearney, 26, who was born with sight problems, was flimed after Mo Salah scored Liverpool's winner against Napoli at Anfield on Tuesday.

    Nearly three million people have watched the clip on Twitter so far.

    Mr Kearney said he was surprised at the level of interest in the clip which showed his cousin Stephen leaning over to tell him who netted for the Reds.

  9. Safety campaign after girl's allergy death

    The parents of a girl who died after an allergic reaction to a takeaway said their "princess" had inspired them to campaign for food safety.

    Megan Lee, 15, died after eating a meal containing peanuts from Royal Spice in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, in 2016.

    Its owner Mohammed Abdul Kuddus and manager Harun Rashid were jailed for manslaughter last month over her death.

  10. Anti-terror barrier plans for Manchester

    Permanent anti-terror barriers are planned for Manchester city centre, a council report has revealed.

    Concrete barriers have been installed around Albert Square

    Concrete barriers and bollards could be erected around the city's busiest spots to reduce the risk of terrorists using vehicles to target the pedestrians.

    Manchester City Council said it was planning to spend £264,000 on the protective measures following advice from counter-terror police.

    The money will come from council car parking charges.

    The report put before councillors this week recommended the installation of security measures "to protect areas of high footfall from the risk of a vehicle being used as a weapon against pedestrians".

  11. £5m project to rebuild Grade II-listed church gutted by fire

    Work has begun to restore a Grade II-listed Salford church gutted in an arson attack.

    The 149-year-old Church of the Ascension in Lower Broughton was reduced to a shell in February 2017, only months after it had undergone a renovation.

    Canon David Wyatt today blessed the start of the project, which will be carried out in two phases and cost just under £5m.

    Pupils from River View Primary School and Albion High School will have the chance to learn stone masonry skills during the rebuilding of the church.

  14. Man from Cheshire jailed for sex trafficking girls

    A Cheshire man has been jailed for the rape and sex trafficking of underage girls from a care home in Wales.

    John Purcell, 31, from Ellesmere Port, "deliberately targeted" a pair of young girls from a care home with Wrexham man John Delaney, 33, Judge Rhys Rowlands told Mold Crown Court.

    Both men were jailed for 14 years for two counts of rape and other sex offences.

  15. Video: Accrington car 'thief' hit officer and fled on two wheels

    A suspected car thief who hit a police officer before reversing on two wheels to get away is being hunted.

    The driver of the BMW was captured on CCTV reversing at speed shortly after striking the officer when he was pulled over in Accrington.

    The officer had to undergo leg surgery after being struck in Eastgate, on 29 November and is now recovering.

    Lancashire Constabulary has appealed for witnesses to help trace the driver, who fled on foot, at about 20:50 GMT.
