  3. Man charged over Dover drugs haul

    A drugs smuggler who hid kilos of cocaine in a horse box, in an attempt to get the product into Kent, has been been caught by officers at Dover.

    They found 50 kilos worth around £1.75m.

    A 51-year-old Dutch man has been charged.

  5. Former Fulham defender signs for Dover

    National League side Dover Athletic have signed former Fulham defender Josh Passley on a one-year deal.

    The 22-year-old made two senior appearances while at Craven Cottage and had loan spells at Shrewsbury and Portsmouth.

    After leaving Fulham, he spent the 2015-16 season at Dagenham & Redbridge, playing 38 times in League Two.

    Last season, Passley made 13 appearances in National League South for Whitehawk.

  6. ICYMI: New technology to prevent accidents on railway tracks

    New technology is being used to keep people safe on some of the South East's level crossings.

    Warnings will be sent to mobile phones as pedestrians and drivers approach one of seven crossings in Kent and Sussex.

    It comes as shocking footage is released, showing youngsters taking pictures as they walk on railway lines.

  13. Attempt to smuggle cannabis resin into UK thwarted

    Cannabis resin with an estimated street value of £11.3m has been found hidden among pallets of flat packed wooden crates on a Bulgarian-registered lorry at the Port of Dover.

    The vehicle was stopped by Border Force officials as it tried to enter the UK on 12 July.

    When it was searched 143 packages, each weighing about 30kg (66lbs), were found hidden in specially hollowed out sections within each pallet.

    A 42-year-old Bulgarian man was arrested and later released pending further investigations.

    Two days later, a 50-year-old man was arrested at an address in Hythe. He was later released on bail.
