  10. Junior doctors removed from hospital after watchdog concerns

More than 40 junior doctors are being removed from the Kent and Canterbury Hospital after concerns were raised over patient safety by a health watchdog.

Health Education England has requested the removal - which equates to more that half of the hospitals trainee doctors - because of a shortage of permanent consultants who oversee training.

The Trust has written to all its inpatients to reassure them that there will be no immediate changes to their care.

  16. Twins found dead in Dover 'carried ashes of parents in rucksacks'

    Langdon Cliffs in Dover

Twins whose bodies were found at the White Cliffs of Dover on New Year's Day had rucksacks containing the ashes of their dead parents, an inquest heard.

A coroner said Muriel and Bernard Burgess, 59, had been struggling to come to terms with their parents' deaths, particularly their mother's in 2014.

The siblings fell more than 200ft at Langdon Cliffs in Dover and were found by rescue teams searching for Gulf War veteran Scott Enion, 45, whose body was also recovered.

One rucksack recovered near the twins contained ashes with their mother's name and a second rucksack had their father's ashes inside.

An inquest in Maidstone into all three deaths heard Mr and Miss Burgess were recluses who lived together in a static caravan in Cheshire and were single and had no children.

Senior coroner Patricia Harding recorded an open conclusion for both Mr and Miss Burgess.

In the case of Mr Enion, of Greater Manchester, Mrs Harding recorded a conclusion of suicide.
