Teenager closes in on target for cancer surgery

A Dover teenager who is suffering from a rare cancer is close to her fundraising target for pioneering surgery in the USA.

Kelly Turner, who's 16, has a desmoplastic small round cell tumour, and has been given two years to live.

Surgery isn't available on the NHS, but an operation in the US will cost £500,000.

Volunteers have so far raised £289,000 and Dover MP Charlie Elphicke is asking NHS bosses to match fund that amount.

Littergram allowed to keep name after Instagram complaint

The owner of an anti-fly-tipping app has said lawyers for Instagram and Facebook have dropped their case demanding he change its name.

Littergram invites people to share pictures of rubbish on their smartphone and report it to their council.

Danny Lucas, of Kent, said Facebook "is allowing us to keep our name and wishing us continued success". But what was the row all about? Watch this...

Drug dealer jailed for three years

A drug dealer has been sentenced to three years in prison for supplying heroin and crack cocaine in Tunbridge Wells.

57-year-old Michael Taylor was found in possession of the class A drug in July 2016. He was arrested again October for possession. 

He pleaded guilty to possessing heroin with intent to supply and further charges of being concerned in the supply of heroin and possession of crack cocaine.

Missing for 20 years

A fresh search for a woman who went missing from hospital near Tunbridge Wells almost 20 years ago will enter its second day today. 

Margaret Costen, who was 54 at the time, was last seen in 1997. 

The new search has been prompted by a cold-case review. Specialist police dogs are searching an area of woodland in Pembury.

Allegations of spying on MPs 'extraordinary'

Allegations of spying on MPs at a Sports Direct warehouse have been described as 'extraordinary' by Business Secretary and Tunbridge Wells MP Greg Clark.

MPs, including Hove's Peter Kyle, claim that someone put a miniature camera on the floor to record their private conversation.

Accidents on M20 and M25

There's disturbance on two of Kent's motorways this morning, due to crashes.

On the M20 there's one lane closed and long delays London-bound because of an accident between J3 and J1. Congestion stretches all the way to J6.

On the M25 one lane is closed and there's slow traffic on the anti-clockwise stretch between J6 and Clackett Lane services, also due to an accident.
