  4. Southern Rail and RMT hold talks

    Talks are to be held in a bid to resolve a bitter row over staffing on trains which continues to disrupt services on some of the busiest routes into Kent. 

    The Rail, Maritime and Transport union said it will meet Southern Railway representatives next week under the chairmanship of the conciliation service Acas. 

    Trains continued to be disrupted today, with the company blaming high levels of staff sickness, although the union has accused Southern of cancelling services even when crew were available.

  5. Car pictures released in murder investigation

    Two images of a car used by a man police want to trace in connection with the murder of Peter Stuart have been released by police. 

    The body of Mr Stuart, 75, was found near Diss, in Suffolk, on Friday night after he and his wife Sylvia - who is yet to be found - were reported missing.

    A silver Citroen C3 belonging to Ali Qazimaj, who is from the Thurrock area, was found in Dover late on Sunday night.

    Police said they have received "reliable information" which places Qazimaj at the Port of Dover ferry terminal at around 18:30 BST on Saturday 4 June.

  12. Police find body in Thanet

    A body has been seen on a beach near Louisa Bay, in Broadstairs, Kent Police have said.

    Officers from the force and South East Coast Ambulance Service are currently in attendance. 

  13. 'Islamic State recruitment attempt'

    Two men accused of attempting to smuggle themselves out of the UK through Dover to join so called Islamic State in Syria have gone on trial at the Old Bailey.

    The jury heard Anas Abdalla and Mahamuud Dini were discovered hidden in the back of a lorry at the port last April, following a lengthy police surveillance operation. BBC South East Today's Piers Hopkirk has more.

  15. Man charged with Ramsgate murder

    A man has been charged with murder after the body of a 17-year-old woman was pulled from the sea off Kent.

    Becky Morgan's remains were recovered from the water at Broadstairs shortly after 07:45 on 1 May.

    Michael Bowditch, 21 of Prestedge Avenue, Ramsgate, is due to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court. Read our story here.

  17. Rescue parents raise £5,000 for RNLI

    The parents of a group of teenagers, who were saved after being trapped by rising coastal tides near Dover, have raised £5,000 for the RNLI.

    The 34 youngsters and two adults from the Ahvas Yisroel Community Centre in Stamford Hill, London, became stuck in an area prone to rock falls on Monday evening. Read our story here.

    An RNLI helicopter and three lifeboats were used to rescue the youngsters.

  18. Restaurant owner arrest after 'migrant found in boot'



    A Whitstable restaurant owner has been arrested on suspicion of people smuggling after a migrant was found in the boot of her car, reports KentOnline. Read the story here.

  19. Victory for Kent in the T20 Blast

    Kent beat Hampshire by eight runs in the T20 Blast at Canterbury last night - Joe Denly top scored with 59, while Sam Billings made 55.

  20. Hit and run

    A man's been airlifted to hospital with serious leg injuries after a suspected hit and run in Herne Bay. 

    It happened in Margate Road just before 05:00 BST yesterday afternoon. Police are carrying out enquiries.
